I was looking around the Nexus and found this

maybe we can reverse engineer it to bring back our beloved spears from morrowind? just an idea

Ha! It's the 'Fork of Horripilation' only much nastier =). It would be worth bearing in mind. We haven't explored the use of weaponry in much depth but I'd certainly like to use some weapons such as this.

I was looking up spears because it's the weapon choice I used in Morrowind, so i was a bit dissapointed when I couldn't find any in vanilla oblivion. but now, with the spear thrust stuff from this mod, it's possibly! If something like this was made, then I would definitely use it as well. I thought it might be appropriate seeing as Argonians were skillfully proficient with Spears in the last game, and besides, they're spears. they look cool, and not much has been done with them.

Good point. Spears are also likely to be used in fishing and that's something that the Argonians are likely to be involved in. This has got me thinking. We're probably well advised to at least partially use the 'Alivewaters' resource.....

Helborne already made a much more extensive spear mod as I understand it. He used the vanilla staff animations for it. It's on TESNexus somewhere, though I have no idea how good it looks in-game (judging by the high quality of all his other work though, I'd imagine that it works very well).

Yes, I'm very keen on Helborne's work. I don't think I'll miss adding anything of his that finds a use in BM eventually...

Hel Borne is going to be updating the spear mod sometime in the near future, with an addition which adds over 30 spears

EDIT: not to put a damper (or yes I am? we are dealing with a marsh here), but Hel Borne's spears don't have a built in spear animation like the spear of bitter Mercy does. Hel borne even goes to suggest "Spears of Cyrodiil" for use in that particular area
