I know how Maar Gan should be, I've had it planned for a while, plus the concepts helped lots too. Like InsanitySorrow mentioned, the 2x land will mean 2x higher/wider landmasses than before. Are we allowed to shape the terrain to make the pieces fit like normal? Like flatten some of the land in the cells, then start over (of course, basing everything on Morrowind's Vvardenfell), just so that everything looks and feels right?
The only problem I can think with this is, the LOD meshes might look a little strange from far away... |

I add my congrats, as well. I think this will mark a real turning point, as you can start to get some demo stuff out there and get modders and players excited about this excellent project.
I hope to be able to spend some more time helping with quests and writing after the next couple of weeks, as RL backs off a bit. |

Okay I guess it's time for me to come out of my lurking cave...being a big fan of Morrowind and Vvardenfell I've watched the mod for quite a while now and it's great to hear the news that you are allowed to use the heightmap from Morrowind.
I got a few questions though, they're probably all answered already but there's so much tech talk going around here sometimes it gets confusing for me I see that you decided to essentially do Vvardenfell at a 2x scale to, apparently, get more "wilderness" in it. But aren't Cyrodiil and Vvardenfell about the same size? Wouldn't a 2x scale make Vvardenfell lore-defyingly huge in comparison? Also, how many modders are working on this exactly...? I was a bit scared because the officiall website seems to have not been updated for a long time, also activity in this forum is a bit low as far as I can see. I feel the desire to help out with this but I'm not sure what people you need and stuff... Other than that I wish you good luck with this, hope my questions haven't annoyed you |

1. We feel that we don't need to go to TES4 Oblivion's proportion. The DEVs most likely cut back quite a bit, but we don't really want to limit OUR ambitions and vision for the sake of conforming with Bethesda's cut-backs ya see :yes: we want to have Vvardenfell bigger and better than ever, show a more real and more conceptually and lore correct version (much was cut back conceptually from TES3's Vvardenfell)
2. we have few modders because we only just began actual modding in the CS the only thing I am displeased about or annoyed is that you feel as if you cannot help or that you will annoy us... truth is, we need all sorts of people, from modders, to #D modelers, from artists to voice actors... one more person is one more valuable teammate in making Vvardenfell... one supporter who does nothing to help the project is a loss for us... thanks for asking, and i hope for other 'lurkers' it answers some questions =) |
