*sigh* but will master Vrenir admit that perhaps freeing the corprus dudes is something the 6th House wants to do? and maybe just add in some kidnapping and assassination attempts and similar stuff... and perhaps three fanatical groups including 6th House fith over Divayth Fyr and you can do something about it?

The more I think about it, the less I think that involving the Sixth House in this or many other quests is a good idea. We intend to introduce House Dagoth as a major enemy in the final phase of the Main Quest, and for that to achieve its maximum effect, we need to help our players (along with the people of Vvardenfell) forget about the Sixth House. They should still exist in Red Mountain and in a few scattered caves, mostly in the Ashlands, but they need to keep a very low profile, exist even more under the radar than they did at the beginning of TESIII. On the surface, they should not exist, and if we have them mounting any type of overt attack or raid, especially in one of the three main House quest-lines, we will not be helping that cause. That said, reintroducing corpus is indeed something that House Dagoth would no doubt favor, and letting our corpus beasts into the countryside would be one way to accomplish this.
But on a different note, how's this for a happy medium between my ideas and Arklon's? A request is sent to the Telvani Council to send someone to Tel Fyr. Apparently, the proprietor is having problems with a recent rash of theft and doesn't want to take time out from his research to take care of it himself. The representative who gives the PC the assignment thinks the situation is amusing, that it's about time, considering that Fyr advertises his valuables and advises visitors to try their hand at stealing them. The general view on the Council is that old Fyr has finally met his match; they'd laugh it off, but he did request aid, so they send the PC. At Tel Fyr, the PC is told that several books and documents have gone missing. There is little that Fyr can say about suspects; he just wants the PC to investigate and get his belongings back. When asked for details about what's missing, the PC is told that it is a series of documents concerning his research on corpus. This is alarming, but Fyr doesn't think that anyone except him can even understand the notes and is unconcerned. He shows the PC where his library is. If the PC stays overnight in the library, he will see a trio of men teleport in. They detect him right away and attack. Another takes a book and teleports away. The PC must kill the two remaining robbers. On their bodies, he finds a distinctive item (something to indicate the region that they came from). After showing it to Fyr and explainaing how the robbers seemed to know he was there, the PC is told that perhaps it would be best to report back to Sadrith Mora. In Sadrith Mora, the item is identified and the PC is told to look for a fortress in the Grazelands (or Ashlands or some other remote area). He is also told to watch his back, because it appears that there is much more going on than simple theft. The Coucil is also not as sure as Fyr that the notes cannot be used by someone else, and they fear what that use could be. The PC tracks down the base, fights or sneaks his way to the boss' chambers, and finds a teleportation platform or item. If he uses it, he is transported to a room inside Tel Mora. Once he figures out where he is, the PC must get out without getting caught or killed and return to Sadrith Mora with the information. The Council representative who gives the quests takes the information to the Council and confronts Dratha's representative about the thefts. She claims innocence, but many on the Council do not believe her. It is secretly decided that the PC must go in, find out what's really going on, and retrieve the stolen documents. If Dratha dies in the process, then so be it. She has not been in favor on the Council for some time anyway. The PC returns to Tel Mora and fights or sneaks his way to the lower levels where he finds cages with corpus beasts. Then Dratha appears, taunts him, and releases the beasts. While the PC fights off the monsters, Dratha shoots spells at him. When all the beasts and Dratha are dead, the PC can look around and find the missing documents as well as additional notes by Dratha explaining how she was working on a viable harnessing of corpus for military purposes. The PC must then take all of the information and get back to Sadrith Mora without getting himself killed by the guards. In Sadrith Mora, the documents are taken by the Council. Fyr wants them back, but the Council is not so sure in light of the recent events. They intend to take another look at whether Fyr's research should be allowed. The PC meanwhile, is handsomely rewarded for his services. Eventually, he is given Tel Mora as a stronghold. Incidentally, it turns out that one of Fyr's daughters was in the employ of Dratha. This explains how the robbers kept getting in and out undetected and how they knew that the PC was waiting for them. The final set of documents was deemed worth the confrontation. I just didn't know how to work these details into the overview. ADDITION: Perhaps KuKulzA's idea with the Sixth House would work well as a sequel to this episode. Perhaps as a result of deliberations, Fyr's research is shut down by the Council and he is forced to leave if he wishes to continue it. When his tower is vacated, the Sixth House moves in to act.... Phase 2 of corpus ensues. |

sounds good... but may I add a few things?
I think one of Fyr's daughters should be under the control of Dratha... and also, in my Telvanni questline, Dratha-Neloth are a oldstyle Telvanni alliance and siding with Helseth to keep their power against Aryon's new ways.... so maybe she is doing this to strengthen her power by perhaps using dark rituals and such to harness power from the corprus beasts... but I DO NOT want Dratha to die, infact there should be a part of the quest saying that Dratha should not be killed but framed, part of Aryon's plans.... he needs Dratha and Neloth's cooperation, as killing them would be killing potential resources if not allies. yes, kill all the beasts but evade Dratha, or maybe give like 5 minutes, and Dratha will come down. THat way you will be less pressured to do so. Dratha's plan I think will be to make a golem of sorts. Based on Dwemer schematics, she is planning to make an animiculi but partially biological. Putting the corprus flesh and enchanting the golem. Then the golem will self-heal as well as be very resistant to magic, but also can be used by magicians to recharge their magic. This, if completed, could be the vanguard of an army, 'reacharge' the war-wizards, and can protect the army from the brunt of the attack being resistant to magic and able to self-heal to a point before being brutally in disrepair what do you think of my idea to mix with you guys'? cause I don't want to change my Telvanni questline too much, its pretty good so far |

Eh... I would've liked it starting out somewhat harmless, just some things have been stolen... but then it starts to turn into a horribly complicated mess as you investigate further.
You should also be allowed to return the documents to Fyr rather than the Council (roleplaying anyone?) and then lie to the council that the documents were destroyed "because Dratha apparently wanted to get rid of the evidence"... but then Fyr would have to leave his tower for some reason later on (and he hides Yagrum Bagarn in some secret location in the Corprusarium to ensure his safety), and then House Dagoth sneaks in, assassinates his daughters, and lets out all the corprus beasts. |

I like these new plans very much. It has intrigue and covert stuff and pleases all three of us!
(As far as murdering a Telvani official, blame it on the Arvil Bren story that I've been reading again. He's rather into slaying Telvani to shift power balances in the Council right now. In fact, Dratha died in the last entry.) |

Hmm... perhaps the Nerevarine got to Akavir via Barilzar's Mazed Band, and Divayth helped him unlock more of the Mazed Band's power so that teleportation there would be possible, and Fyr is somehow able to control some part of it and blah blah blah, Fyr finds out what happens in his tower, he teleports the Nerevarine back, tells him that the Sixth House isn't dead, the Nerevarine talks about how the Akaviri are planning an invasion, Fyr tells him that internal affairs are more important, yadda yadda yadda, and/or stuff like that. Maybe. Yeah.

Ok, fine, House Dagoth uses stealth to get to the Corprusarium. I think they'd probably do this anyway, to avoid bringing attention to themselves.

Or the daughters leave along with Fyr and the tower becomes abandoned, except for the creatures in the basement that couldn't be taken along because they were too far gone.

Maybe the daughter that cares for the Corpus critters finally somehow caught corpus, and is still down there? Maybe she can still talk and tells you what happened?
