So long as it is a book it does not have to be 'Lore' it could simply be a comedy book about the Desert Patrol (and why they get posted there) or propaganda! I'll take your observations onboard, and try to get Treebiter to take a look here!

Is it too late to say that I don't think that there should be spikes or anything on the boots? I mean, they will be walking around in sand... spikes serve absolutely no perpose, and just add to the weight, which you wouldnt want in that heat. I'm also sure they would have some sort of tie at the top of the boot to prevent sand from entering.

And a heaven in a wild flower, Hold infinity in the palm of your hand, And eternity in an hour" -William Blake |

I think it was meant for traction, but I agree, perhaps a narrowing towards the center to stop it from digging into the sand.

Maybe the way to do desert boots is on the pattern of a camel's hoof = cloven - to spread the area of traction and to catch a runnel of sand in the cleft...

I did this a little while ago and thought it could be used here. Of course it could also be used elsewhere.

They have a very Roman character (better than mediaevil)... not sure how people are thinking with the corps at the moment though...
How do you see the different 'specialities'? Would the spearman have the same armour as th eswordsman or th escout?

Very nice concept, were it modeled we would find a use I am certain, I'm starting to the think that the cat who walks alone will not be completed in any reasonable time span so we need a new demo method.

I think that the individual ranks would not have seperate armor with the exception of generals and other higher ranking officers. This would (were it real) enable an "assembly line" of sorts to be utilized in making Legionnaire armor. What would be interesting would be to have each soldier customize his or her armor to suit the desert enviroment. Unfortunately that would require many new models, though were there a base that every rank used, it would be less of a chore.
I based the design off of the later Roman Legion armor as well as the Blades Cuirass. I almost added the Imperial Legion belt thing, I just thought that looked pretty cool, plus it would fit well with the armor, the skirt and all. I don't think there should be greaves, perhaps light pants to help reduce the weight and heat-factor of the armor. I also think the boots should be similar to the Iron boots in design, or maybe the Blades boots, as they looked to be leather with an Imperial/Akaviri twist. I don't like the idea of having gloves, I think bracers would better fit the enviroment. Man, a rag-doll cape/cloak would be really awesome on the back. If the armor isn't used in Elsewyr, I suppose it could be used in Vvardenfell, as it slightly resembles the Imperial Guard armor from the wonderful world of Morrowind.
