The Orphanage

This quest idea would assume their will be children in Silgrad ES4, if not we can just lay this to rest

Not so Basic

With all thats going on it would be apparent that many children will become orphans, The Imperial Temple will establish places for these children to be cared for until a suitable parent(s) can take claim to the child.

As we all know, in the RL orphanages are not the greatest places for children to be, no matter who runs them and some have even conspired to use children in a multitude of dangerous and criminal acts

This would be the case in our orphanage

Place an orphange in one of our cities with an imperial temple. It will be maintained by an imperial couple (presumably husband and wife) reporting to the temple priest

The couple has maintained a good cover and everything about the orphanage will appear properly run, the children will all seem happy and if asked about their (house parents) will only say good things.

However:

Speaking with citizens of this town and/or the guards, you will discover that their have been an increasing amount of pick pocketing going on in town, the guards have not been able to catch the culprits and non has really seen this happen, several citizens have caught glimpses of small figures running extremely fast but are unsure of who or what it is.

After hearing of this a short time will pass and you (the player) will here someone yell "Thief", fortunately for you, you are in a position where you can plainly see that it is a child

Report this to the guard captain, he will indicate that their are several families in the area with children and the orphanage which is run by the temple, you will be prompted to speak to the temple priest, who at first will be shocked at the information you give him and demand that you leave unless you can better prove your allogations.

a couple of days should pass before the next occurance, if the player leaves the town it will happen again the next time he/she enters.

again you will hear a cry "Thief" again you are in a position to see and you chase the small figure as it runs into a row of homes but disappears

you will be prompted to search the area for a secret enterence and you do find one, but the passage is too small to go through.

again you are prompted (via update) to speak with the priest, tell the priest you have plainly seen a small child and the child ran between some homes and disappeared, also tell the priest you found a passage which was too small for you to crawl through, and ask permission to search the temple for a hidden door which might lead to this passage

the priest will at first deny your request

assure the priest that it will be the only way to prove it is not his children which are the theives (you'll need to boost your favor with him)

The priest grants permission and you search out the hidden door

Once you find the door, enter the tunnel leading to the passage, you will see that the tunnel splits in another direction, follow it to the hidden door at the other end which goes directly into the orphanage

You can not enter though because the door requires a password

return to the priest and report your findings. He will humble himself and give you permission to search the orphanage

Also report this to the guard captain, he will give you an option to let the guard handle it or if you can take care of it, they will pay you

If you choose to let the guard handle it, you will receive 10 gold for your troubles

Otherwise, go to the orphanage

Before entering the orphange you will need to change into regular clothing, you will be prompted to do this via journal to give the appearance of a man/woman looking for a child to adopt

Enter the orphanage and be greeted by the "wife" tell her your their to look for a child to adopt and she will give you a tour and bring to you several children to choose from.

You'll notice that one of the children looks familiar, choose him/her and ask the wife if you can speak to him/her in private before you decide.

Speak with the child asking about conditions of the orphanage, the child will tell you everything is great thier and that they are all treated nicely

ask the child about wanting to live with you and the child will refuse

ask why and the child will turn away and begin to cry

speak with the child again, assure him/her that no matter what the problem is you will help

The child will ask you to prove your honesty and then he/she will tell you whatever you want to know

He/she will give you a charm and say that the charm has a twin belonging to his/her older sister, find the sister and return with the other charm to prove it. the child will tell you were they used to live (locxxxx)

Go to (locxxxx) and ask about the family, the locals their will tell you they all disappeared one night except the older daughter, she thinking her parents and sibling dead, went to live with her aunt in (loczzzz)

Go to (loczzzz) find the sister by asking around, you will find her at her aunts house (obviously) she will be shocked at the news that her sibling is alive and give you the charm to prove you have found her

return to the orphanage and speak wit the wife again, tell her you are interested in that child but need to ask a few more questions

The child will come to you, you show the charm, and the child will spill the info

Some of these children are here because their parents were dead and some of us were taken away and told they us if we didn't do what they wanted they would kill our moms and dads, I do not know where my dad and mom are, if you can find them and help us, me and the other kids will tell on the man and his wife.

Now find the parents

Tell the wife, you want the child, she will ask you to see here husband and fill out some paper work and pay the adoption fee.

Go to the mans office and speak with him, he will appear happy that you are adopting one of the children. but you will notice the stern look he gives the child while you are filling the papers out (via journal) "

The man seems pleased that one of his children found a home, but I noticed his stern staring at the boy/girl and the fear in the childs eyes.
Once you've paid the fee and left with the child go to a local inn and
rent a room, tell the child to stay and wait

Return to the orphange at night and search the office (stealth required)
you will find a key ID'ed as storage key. look arond the orphange for a storage room, but thier will be none

Return to the Inn and speak with the child ask if he/she knows about a storage room and he/she will tell you in the tunnels their a room and its always locked. he/she will tell you the password

Go back to the temple and search the tunnels again, using the password enter the room were you will find the other children locked up, they will ask for your help, tell them you will and move on, further down you will find a door marked storage, use the key and find yourself in a small storage room, walk around you eventually find a crate which is actually a trap/hidden door) go in and find yourself in a cave with many cages filled with moms and dads, open the doors using the same storage key and explain who you are and what you are doing, direct them to the exit, ask specifically for (your childs) parents and thel them were to find their child

go back out the tunnels and release the children they will match up with their parents (the one who have parents) and disappear, the ones without parents, tell them to go to the priest and tell him what has happened

Now go find the man and his wife, confront them and they will run, you can chase after but will not catch them

return to the priest who will now be outside the temple with the guard captain (your child) and his/her parents

Tell them that the man and his wife have escaped, the guard captian will tell you they will be found and not to worry

The priest will apologize for is not believing you and offer you a blessing

The parents will thank you for rescueing them and saving their child

The guard captain will then offer you a payment for your services

The children who really had no parents will return to the orphanage under a new administrator

And everyone will live happily ever after

Within TES4 the age ranges from 15 to 65.
If 15 is young enough then there are children.

It's an interesting plot.

I thought we were going to have children in ST. We would have to make custom races for children, but it would be possible, one mod already did it.

15 may be young enough looking I would have to see a pic of the faces,
size could be adjusted, if they appear facially young and we adjust their size slightly then that would be fine or as kingevil says maybe we can add some

To add to this:
As part of the Temple quest line we could incorporate another Temple Quest to find the orphans a home, simply wereby the player is requested to find suitable parents for 3 or 4 of the orphans

Sounds good.

I attached a few screenshots the last one (at the right) has the same face as the third one only at an age of 65.

That is pretty cool how you can adjust the features of the npc's
you can actually make each npc unique

I suppose if you lightened up his complexion a bit, and ligthened the hair also, right now to me he looks like he needs a shave

Honestly I don't think we could pass it off without some really good modifications to existing faces or just adding a few child faces to the mix
