Velothi "Bamiyan"
good info site on Bamiyan buddhas
In the Afghanistan area... there is a town called Bamiyan and in the cliffs nearby were carved giant Buddhas and cave monastaries and dwellings were dug besides them... that is until the Taliban got to them and wiped out the carvings I am thinking that maybe there are several sites sacred to the Ashlanders, among them a giant St. Veloth carved into a cliff and nearby is a secret cavern which serves as a refuge. However, it has been forgotten by all except the wise-women in their oral histories and songs... and occasionally young Ashlanders will go off looking for the great cliff-statue of St. Veloth but it has not yet been found, and few of the wandering questers ever return. as for names... I have a few made up... Ald-Balssalit, Balekilyam, Bandu-Bal, Aldesreth, Bal-Gah'amer, Yimanaballet, Putumissun, Siddun-duru, Hadikkhan, Sassimidanud, Akulabanduru, Rissutugah, Throgahkhan...? |

I was thinking maybe in the southern ashlands...
but remember, the TES4 Vvardenfell won't be an exact copy of TES3's in TES4 engine... it could be expanded, certain regions larger than before, some smaller, etc. hopefully the ratio will be closer to real life so that we can fit a lot more in, have bigger wilderness, etc. |

As much as I'd love an absolutely huge ratio, I don't want it to seem like all of Cyrodill could fit inside half of Vvardenfell, unless we took the liberty of redrawing the maps so that Cyrodill really isn't all that big, sort of like Italy not being the biggest part of the Roman Empire. Of course that would be a huge lore problem though and would likely cause problems. A long time ago, I heard mention of resizing Cyrodill as an option in worst-case senario, but I have no idea how much work that would be or if that would make it incompatible with any Cyrodill-based mods constructed (probably).

Yeah, nothing can be known or decided about scale until Cyrodill's standard is actually seen and the editor accessed by people who know what they're doing to wiegh options.
