What's wrong with my trees?
This is probably the wrong place for this, buuuut:
I like making trees, except I havn't been able to lately for some reason, for like a month or so now. For some reason, trees can appear fine in SpeedTree, but when I bring them into the CS they have no bark, instead just solid black. Am I doing something wrong? Can I fix it? (pic below) And lastly, I just want to know how you stop those annoying messages from popping up every time it loads a tree that Silgrad has been able to do so far.
Lol what?

I don't know.
But I do have my own question: Is there any mass dds-tga converters that I would be able to convert all of the stock OB tree textures to tga so I can see them in Speedtree.

Hey dude, firstly make sure the files are in the correct folder: textures/trees/branches. Also make sure they are .dds, as these don't get displayed in speedtree, the bark just goes white. Lastly make sure there is a normal map as objects can go black if one is missing.
To make the billbords convert the texture to targa then use that. EDIT: The error message is due to the lack of a billboard, place it in the billboards folder: (textures/trees/billboards) with the name as the .spt file (obviouly .dds instead) Hope that helps, Tom |

Well, everything you said is fine, But when I take an ingame tree, open it up and save it as something else, it does nothing, but if I change that tree's shape in any way it goes all black. I just don't know what to do, is it my SpeedTree program?
Do they need to be directly in the branches folder or can they be in a sub-folder? The leaves worked fine, I just don't know.....
Lol what?
