I played a little bit. Mostly the PC games, but my brother got a miniatures set, and we messed around with those for awhile.
Mostly I just colected the figures, as well as D&D miniatures.

I used to play quite a bit, though I don't have anyone to play with at the moment so my armies are unfortunately collecting dust in a cupboard. Used to play Dark Eldar and SM Blood Angels, and I have a small Dwarf warband for WHFB.
Dark Eldar are an amazing army to play, using webway portals + raiders you can have a 24 inch charge range (even more if you're lucky), and the enemy never get a chance to shoot you before you can charge their lines. Combine that with tonnes of strength 8 lance weapons, and you have the most overpowered army in 40k. |

Do bear in mind that they are my favourite army and I am totally biased in their favor.

I think I'll stick to my collecting, just so I dont have to fight Alasdair's Dark Eldar.

Havent played for like a year or two but anyways..
Well ive got an Imperial Guard army at about 4,000 points: About 120 basic infantry models all devided into platoons fully equipped. It may sound like alot of people but they are real good at dying so, 18 stormtroopers (2 plasmas, 2 meltas powersword for the sarge), 16 Hardened Veterans (2 plasmas, 2 meltas powerweapon and powerfist for capn) 25 or something heavyweapon teams (including heavybolters, autocannons, lascannons, mortars and rocketlaunchers), 2 basic russ tanks and a basilisk (Earthshaker: 120" range S8 AP3 + ordnance blast equals pure rape) 3 sentinels armed with lascannons experts at taking out big nasty tyranid carnifexex. 2 chimeras (perfect for transporting stormtroopers into the thick of battle) + about 3 special characters (included Commisar Yarrick, Sly Marbo, Iron Hand Straken) 2 Assasins Vindicare and Eversor.. Well it took some time to paint all of em but its a kinda fun to play them.. Always had a weakness for shooty armies, however i expect loosing about half of my men in a normal pitchd battle (shitty 3 Toughness and 5+ saving throw).. However The best thing about the Imperial Guard is the hopeless look on your opponents face when you pick up 300+ dice in the shooting phase and point at closest biggest Waaagh ! or when you manage to kill off 9 deathguard with a hit from the earthshaker or when you kill 400 points worth squad of terminators with your stormtroopers (gotta love rapid fire plasmas).. :bananarock:
Hide the petals underneath that bedroom floorboard
and they will wither without fail or success. Put the people in the hollow box they crafted, bolt the doors and watch them perish. |

Hey, I am currently debating wether to buy Warhammer 40k: Dawn of war with all the expansions or not.
Its only 21$, but I dont really know if its a good game. I played a couple skirmishes, but never really got into the game deep. Any suggestions, or details you think I'll like?
