I agree completely
[1ST]T[/1ST]his is what a heightmap looks like, this is what it does when it catches hold of you, it's eating me alive and very soon now it will kill me.

I can't guarantee anything, Azkur, but I'll try. Send me a PM with the OBJ files in it.
Lady N, I am already using normal maps. It's true that a lot of color information is lost during the video, but the walls still do clash in-game. They look wet, and I think the main problem comes from the textures being too dark. I think a lighter gray would work, but I'll have to do experiments on that later.

Quote:Originally posted by nerbod mah, thats what i ment. the darknes may very well be to blame. but i think you should make the textures more brown, currently they are very gray. adding some brown would make it more earth colored, wich would perhaps make it blend more. see screen below. left is MW texture, right is OB Mongati HoonDing tiavo; li-mansao einei diang. Hmm strange.
Where are this brown textures? I've made the textures with the colour-palette from the MW texture and they are more green. But why they are so grey ingame? Left the MW and on the right the current one: |

It could just be the lighting. I was going to experiment a bit today with normal maps and such, but the maps look gray even in direct sunlight.
Who knows, maybe it's a 3DS artifact. It sure does look a lot like Morrowind's wall texture within NifSkope, so maybe it's one of my settings inside Oblivion. I'll experiment with it when I get home from work.

Morrowind's Imperial fort set had base pieces that were much darker/greener than the rest of the wall. That transition not only made it look as if it was dirty and had been around for some time, but it also blended it with the ground much better than the other textures did. Both can be seen in this picture.
Maybe that's what's missing? |

Darker textures for the top and the bottom are here, too:

Thanks, Stilgar! I also think it might have to do with the area around Steadhelm... I should probably try to make this in an area that isn't so grassy. The grass around Steadhelm is extremely bright.
