Did you try oldbivion?
It's in case you have an older computer. It works perfectly on a geforce 3 512RAM 1ghz CPU. If you still cannot play then you should definitely upgrade you computer. http://www.oldblivion.com

I have Oblivion but have not played it yet
I bought this PC new about 4 yrs ago, in the PC world thats old havent made any changes to it other than a new hard drive was installed 1 year ago I have trouble with morrowind occasionally I get a graphics error message and my screen goes wacky and I have to reboot.. this only happens when their is lots of things going on IE: fights with many NPC's and lots of magic going on or if Im up the the cold regions, when its snowing and I get attacked by rickling raiders, if magic is used Intel® 82845G/GL/GE/PE/GV Graphics Controller < my current I'm still debating with my wife, the advantages of building my own vs. buying from big retailers, Im not winning YET lol Bob

Thats about the worst graphics card you can get.
How is you're wife winning the argument? I can't even think of an advantage of buying from a major retailer. Except for simplicity. When I first got into PC gaming from consoles, i wanted to buy a dell XPS. But than I learned my lesson and got a better deal from a smaller manufactuer, without any preinstalled clutter except for drivers which I updated anyway. Looking back I wish I would've built it, but next time I build a new computer I'll probably order the parts fro Newegg and build it and get the best deal, instead of buying from a manufactuer. |

Listen to me. Don't upgrade your computer. Instead of doing this put some money in the pig bank and buy a completely new one later. Try to sell the one you have now if you want to recover some money. there are people who have worse computers than yours.
I plan to do this. So in a few months I'll have a new compy. Try to configure it by yourself. If you can't do this feel free to ask me. I know a few places where you can buy performant and cheap computer hardware.

The thing is we have the cash to spend on a new pc, up to $2,700.00, we were gonna give this one to our daughter, hers is a big piece of junk
but since my wife is the big bread winner, she has a problem with not buying from the major retailers, she wants that warrenty...she doesnt understand that the warrenty isnt worth diddley and even if you have an extended plan, your paying extra for it. plus she likes the idea of us being able to build our credit back up regardless of the interest rate, building one or buying from local-small pc places most wont extend credit and allthough we can pay cash up front, she would rather pay monthly and get the good credit so thats the current debate

Well, the less money you spend the better. Just because you have cash to blow doesn't mean you shouldn't try to get a good deal.
I think there are smaller manufactuers that have warrantys anyway. |

Quote: (GG_dave_thomas) For Morrowind, yes, but there is now way Oblivion will run with 512Mb of ram. This game really requires 1GB to run close to smooth, if not 2Gb. I have 512 MB of ram, an athalon 64 and a Gforce 5200, and OB will still run. Of course, it resembles wookie feces, and is still choppy at times, but it does run, and is playable. |
