Maybe squirrels don't, but chipmunks do! http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=...=ninja+chipmunk Ninja Chipmunks FTW!!!!!!!1
If someone models small animals I will gladly look into including them,
currently I know of one such mod (forget the name). If we can get new
animations Horkers might be another case. We want to focus on things
that serve a purpose to the player, and that they can fight/ride
(riding wolves, sabertooth tigers, antlered skeletons, chipmunks
)

Squirrels would be good. Just because you don't fight them, doesn't make them pointless. They add atmosphere.

they are un-needed and slow done the game. If you really want squirls
make an .esp seperate to the main file. It's to much work for something
like it.

But increase immersion. It's nice to have not every single creature attack you on sight.

I agree. It's why mods like Abot's Bird and Fish mods and Caits
Critters were so popular for Morrowind. It adds life to the world. |

There is a balance between Immersion and practicality. Squirls and the like are not to be included.
Like I said if you want to have these in the mod you can always make a seperate .esp file.

Well The core hasn't looked into issues like this seeing as they are
fairly insubstancial in the scheme of the overall mod. However I am all
for more immersive environments, and more wildlife would certainly help
to achieve that. So as sieg said it wont be a priority, noone will be
assigned to create such models, but if someone makes such models and
they are suitable for the mod, then such things probably will be
included. I certainly think they should

no really, remember the Karstaag guy on Solstheim in Bloodmoon? The big
headed, large horned, white haired ugly thing? That big Yetti
creature/frost-giant? yeah yeah... ever thought of him? maybe include
some of his kind in Skyrim eh?

We could put them as sounds, like they did in Cyrodiil with birds(you could hear them chirping in the background).
For the Frost Giants we could include a few to the north, and prehaps when we make the west put some in the non-inhabited area.

Giants/yetis could be implemented, I'll likely touch on them in my next
big update for the creature's list. Right now I have no plans for
including squirrels, they aren't worth the time to create, but as I
said I have heard of projects creating ambient critters, so if those
turn out well and we gain permission we can use those squirrels. |

sounds good...
maybe a special quest where there is one giant who will befriend you...
like he says his brother went to a snowy island somewhere to the east
and he don't know how he is doing.... and if you tell him werewolves
got him he will thank you for telling and will be your friend... and
follow you.... and squash Nord bandits!!!

Well
Merringar
Fairly recently, in northern Skyrim, I had a bit of bad luck. I was
with a group of fishermen, observing their technique of capturing a
very rare, very delicious fish called Merringar. The fish is found only
far from shore, so it was a week's voyage out beyond civilization.
Well, we found our school of Merringar, but as the fishermen began
spearing them, the blood in the water attracted a family of Dreugh, who
capsized the boat and everyone on it. I managed to save myself, but the
fishermen and all our supplies were lost. Sailing is not, alas, a skill
I have picked up over the years, and it took me three weeks, with no
provisions, to find my way back to the kingdom of Solitude. I had
managed to catch enough small fish to eat raw, but I was still
delirious from hunger and thirst. The first meal I had on shore, of
Nordic roast boar, Jazbay wine, and, yes, filet of Merringar would have
been excellent under any circumstances, but because of the threat of
starvation I had faced, it was divine beyond words. From "The Red
Kitchen Reader"

Alright, alright - enough gagging lollies!
Get me some reasonably difficult snow creatures - and maybe a leveled list for Haerter's Gap.
I'm thinking a mammoth and maybe a couple sabre-toothed snow leopards.
Oh, and maybe a Yeti that always keeps its distance.

I've pm'd xifr about retexturing some snow tigers, snow leopards, polar
bears, grizzlys, and kodiaks. I'll get in touch with Corwyn and see if
he can get a few new models done, Sabertooths sound like a good start,
and if someone does a yeti concept we could base one off the oger
animations. Without new animations mammoths are not possible. |

Great find TOYB! Actually it might work a lot better for the Banshees,
but I suppose we could use it for both, someone should test it out to
see how buggy it is, if at all. |

That is a good find, however it doesn't seem to me as it would suit
Skyrim try posting it in one of the other afiliates forums or at
Silgrad Tower.

Nice one Seig, that would bee too good *wipes a tear from his eye*.
It's rare that I take offence to the internet, but that really narked
me off for some reason, so I have no problems with that easter egg. And
boy, what an easter egg it would be

You want to try getting him modeled the way I suggested for the Haerter
Gap Teaser? Stuff like that will really make our Teaser stick in
people's mind, and it will give us a reputation as a project with a
sense of humor. If we are going to include Funky we are going to need
to have him in our Teaser, because by the time the full mod comes out
people will have forgotten him, once people find out about him it will
get us some nice attention. I can only hope that he hasn't been banned
from the official forums already, so when our Teaser comes out he will
make a Skyrim for Oblivion be my harem or a Greybeard/Siegfried/edwills
be my gay lover thread. That would get us a tremendous ammount of
publicity

OK, eddwills, you've got the first shot at him. Have fun. You might
want to make him a separate race so that you can adjust the
height/weight stats. |

Yeah that's what I was going to try and do so that the speech can work
correctly, but I don't know if you can change the default meshes for a
race because they all use the same mesh. I could have it as armor but
I'm not sure how we'd go about preventing the player from looting said
armor off his corpse, and exposing his true, skinny form. Any ideas?
If not, I'll rig it to the ogre skeleton instead and have it as a creature.

Yeah, when you make your race, go into the Character, race and select
the race you made him. Go into the Body data tab and set his height and
weight percentage there. That automatically adjusts the measurements.
(I adjusted the default bodies as the very first Oblivion mod I made.) |

Yeah but we're talking about tweaking the orge mesh here, not using a
human model. Otherwise it would be a 30 minute job (thanks to facegen).

Sorry
, I was thinking Orc. Just looked through the Ogre section in the CS,
and other than tweaking the mesh, I didn't find anything that would do
it. It'd be a great easter egg, but now I'm beginning to wonder if it's
worth the time and effort. You rich kids with the 3ds 8 will have to
let me know on that.
