Hey everyone, as I have now taking over the creation of the islands south of the continent I have decided to start a new thread for ideas and feedback.

What I have done so far:
Created my own .esm
Heightmapped all three islands.
Created uniques jungle trees.
Retextured bushes and selected vanilla trees.
Recoloured the fern and groundcover meshes to look more lush.
Created 3 custom landscape textures.
Created 3 New rock textures (Moss,Grey and Beach).
Retextured the small row boat.
Added normal maps to the Ndib textures and improved and scaled some.
Created custom water.
Created 6 custom Palm/Curley Palm models.
Added Havok the the Ndib ship.
Landscaped/Planted the smaller island and the med island.
Started placing achatecture on the large island.
+ more I've probably forgotten.

Topics to discuss.
The names of the Islands?
Quests involved? (I would love if people could write some)
Literature? (Island Lore)
Creatures? (Any moddelers and riggers?)
Any other ideas/feedback

There will also be about 10/12 interiors up for grabs so if anyone is desperate to do one just say so and I will reserve it.

There are 2 on the med islands and 8/10 on the large. Also add what you like to make. Player Home? Villiagers house? Shop? Inn?

I've stickied the thread for you, and am going to procede to archive the old thread. As for quests:

There could be two rival factions on the islands, pirates and the straight, fair playing, owners of the port. You could play for either of them, and help the other out in taking out thier rivals. Done before, I know, but it's a nice mini-questline to have here and fits the atmosphere.

We have scripters so we should be fine in that department, and I know how to make quests. Throwing some ideas out there :)

Thankyou, I was stupid enough to copy the links (from a pervious thread) without going into post edit.
I have done a lot since those screens anyway, at the time I had only covered a 1/4 of the small island (thats why it looks sparce). I have now completed the small island with the resources I have (ill start creating more jungle plants soon) and I have placed the structural parts on the med islands. I have also improved the boat textures :)

A nice update here:

I have now done the med island (not all plants) with the housing. I have added texians stream animations which look amazing, they really do.
I also managed to model something sort of good. I made some braziers first with logs and flame but then decided that would't fit in with the elves pact. So added a glowing globe instead of fire (glow mapped) which gives a lovely effect Cool (look below).

Grass is maxed out(see the ferns in the background), its just I havn't added any grass to that texture. I just thought it as clipped/cut grass? Ill add some grass meshes to see how it looks to compare.

ah, ok. grass is kinda a personal preferance I gues (me like to take advantage of OB's graphics). I think the village itself is fine without, but there should be some once you get away from commonly walked ground (eg. near and beyond fence).

once again, personal preferance mostly.

Great screens WindSurfer! I noticed something about the roof of the houses, the texture seems to be a bit blurred, but wasn't before. Could this be a result of the paralaxing?

Everything looks great and I think you've done an amazing job Good job!

Thanks Raggidman but I have enought stuff to do at the present. I never kept the paralaxing in the end as it looks really bad when I did. Almost like mud!! I scaled the textures up on the roof whihc should look better! I will see what happerns if I redo the normal map.

I have now also created two ground plants whihc also done sway unfortunatly. I still think it could be done like the ferns?

Edit: So anymore quest ideas or names for them? We need some productive discusion.

I think we could use a new lighthouse model. We could always make some quests where there is a lighthouse. Even something as simple as the keeper getting sick and needing you to get his medication because he can't leave the Lighthouse. Just simple things to destract the player, and more deeper quests added on me thinks.

A lighthouse will be nice it was in the same ndib theme. I'm sure with a lot of patient I could uv map it but I really dout it will be as good as it could be. if one is made I will definatlt texture it :) . You are right small quests just keep the player going and therfore make the main quest last even longer. I'm glad we have some people who know how to quest as that is one thing I have never had a go at doing. Could you plz ask some people to write a script for a few quests (maybe a thread in the literacy department).

Still any ideas on a name?

I have done a map of ther islands, what do you guys think? I'm yet to add buildings.

I was planning to retexture the caves to be mossy although I've deicded against doing it all. I have done a couple of textures but I didn't want to change the paths of the hundreds of meshes. What I've decided to do is get someone to create a cave for me using stock meshes then retexture the ones they do and then search and replace each item. It will save me a large amount of work.

the beach rocks seem a big large in comparison to the NPC...
(my thought) they could be a bit smaller I dunno

Cheers, the rocks arn't that large, and the biggest ones are used sparingly. I think they are ok in size we will see.

I have managed to get a custom bow model and texture ingame Dancing Banana . The model was from a Morrowind resource so I converted it a did a custom texture. Ill post some screens soon. Its for one of the islands quests. Didn't realise how it had to be done two meshes are needed a bent version and normal version. luckly my blender skills were just enough to bend it and to re uv map it so it all the texture was on one file.

The grass appears a bit to bright green for my taste, but the rest looks great, how could I've missed this post o_0 Anyway Nobody I don't think there's a download, no pulbic one for sure Wink

Are there any other new plants like Mooncap? Could start writing some literature on them if we have a few in game like that!

Sorry about the late reply, internet trouble!

I've tried to send the file (hopefully the correct one - my PC is mess Tongue ) but via the installed mailing system that came with the comp as msn was having none of it. Not entirly sure how relible this sysem is especially with big files so hopeflly you get it, I'l try adhost it somewhere though I've never actaully done that before Eek 1

I can only suggest redownloading? Or installing to a different directory? I always extract into data files and everything usually goes in the right folders... Sorry I'm not much help with this kind of stuff! Cool

CRC is usually when the download is corrupt, try redownloading, or try the other link. If you still have the problem I will upload again.

This looks really great! I am so jealous lol Your mod has palms which I want sooooo bad for the Ocean Mod but PROM will be making some, maybe some to rival Renzeekin's lol :D But really great work! Good job!

Yes I have asked him a many times but always no he is about to let me use one or two but he never comes on his own forums by the way can I be of any assistance?

I think they're recolors and yes he didn't let us use them either, despite we'll be never done before him :S
