Man windsurfer, that is really incredible work-- I can't wait for a chance to play it. How far off is it from release?

Wow Windsurfer, here I was thinking I couldn't get happier
That is some amazing work, I've lost the link to our old PR thread,
would someone mind telling me if we have a new and if these screens
have been posted yet?
You sure do enjoy your sunsets don't you hehe, I particularly like your creative use of the buildings, AAA work

Looks awesome wind! I especially love the trees, I feel tempted to post some of my palms and trees shots.
Perhaps later on.

Thanks for the link, and I already thanked Eric, way before these were converted
EDIT: Thats odd, retexts shouldn't have any problems, I don't know
about your customs. Did you enlarge them via CS? if so then theres your
problem, collision is preset by Speed Tree, so if you enlarge the trees
in the CS, the collision for them does not change, however it may still
work in some areas as collision for trees is just a bubble around the
base.

Well I havent had much, the traders place is almost done but I will
start right now actually, the reason of being late is because I have
been retexing trees and such so they look really tropical, they still
are not perfect but I will do the interiors now, also I am going on
vacation tommorrow till next tuesday. Perhaps I will take some palm
pics and I could let you guys use em. I gotta bring me camera. There
are supposebly palm trees in Georgia, I never knew
So I will try to finish 1 interior now but I cannot guarantee sadly.

Just a little update, I decided I would see if I could improve my
moddeling skills. So made a jungle plant/flower thing. Hope you like.
Still need the interiors to be done
I'm also going to make so new plates, bowls and cups etc as a found a really easy way of making them
I will make them look like bone.

Yer some screens would be good. Another update on my moddeling:
Created 4 house items (bowl, 2cups, plate) Which are supposed to be
made out of bone. These are not yet havoked but a easy copy of the
existing plate etc havok will be fine.
Another plant - Whihc i'm getting much better at making.
My next mission will be to make some coral atols (about 4) already with the plants on to easily place ingame.
Here are the screens of the plant and a couple on the house items:

I have now made 10 coral items whihch 4 have been uv mapped. This include brain coral, urchin, atols, Fern coral Etc
Here is a render of an urchin I made. It the first one I textured. I
will post screens every time I've textured a model. Does any know how
to add normal maps in blender?

Really liking this new stuff, those cups and plates look great especially.
Having never really seen many exotic corals I cant comment on your latest, certainly looks tropical though
You might be better asking texturing questions on the general board or
looking at the help forum on the ESF, I have absolutley no clue myself

Thanks durdain, all the coral items are real species. I'm at the red
sea now and I've seen hundreds of the urchins snorkling. Someone here
got them stuck in her foot when windsurfing!!!
The ve (top right in blender) count is 470. Each spine is only 4
vertices. I make everything as low poly as I can!!It prob looks more as
its rendered with full OSA and has subsurface scattering. Took 40 mins
(dual core, onboard graphics) on a laptop to render.
Hopefully ill texture some more tonight.

470 is a bit high butit looks awesome
Low polycount is for underwatervegitation even more important becasue water is intensive to render. Great work though

I could reduce the schere in the middle abit, Its highest poly model
out of the lot I think. textured the brain coral last night but the uv
maps dont mke it look as god as it should. Its hard to Uva schere with
suck a non repetive texture. Ill do a tube coral tonight as they look
pretty good non textured.
Any chence you could improve the islands buildings?

Here is another coral render. There are two varities of this (only one
is shown). I will also do different colours. Just need to alter the uv
map so that is links with the texture. I have also createrd textures
for the brain coral "wo types) and the scroll coral texture. Ill render
those tonight. Defo getting better at this moddelng/uv/texturing think

I'm sure you can use some of it JKJ.
Here is a bigger update, I have now textured and uved all the models I
have made. Whihc I think look pretty good. Sorry about the shadows of
the corals with alpha but I couldn't get the Yayray (better at normal
maps) to render apha shadows. This has been a great learning project
for me personally. Uv and texturing complicated models, using sculpt,
normal maps in blender, material settings etc
What does everyone think and what extras more should I make. Also any
other ideas for island models (shrines? Try caves using sculpt (soft
sided). Any concepts whihc would look good on the island?

just for visual apeal. Just so when the player swims around the island
they think wow Especialy with some tropical fish swimming around.
Still any ideas for stuff I can model?

I was referencing the island, not the sea-life. It all looks beautiful ^^
My suggestions:
Thorns
Massive, hole ridden, rock structures for the ocean.

Unfortunatly I never foundout how to animate custom meshes so no they
dont animate. If anyone else knows how to that would be great.
About dangerous things I though about making a pit trap with wooden
spikes at the bottom, the pplayer could also lure the enemy into the
pit but could also stepin it by mistake. It will be easy to make but
i'm not sure how to do the top. Should I just make a hole or would it
bepossible to make havok slats whihc would fall through when stood on?
Maybe if they only just balance on the edges?
Yer Merry christmas and a Happy New year

Cool thanks, hopefully we will get someoneto animate them. I've only
just learnt how to model so animating is another big step.
Any more moddeling ideas. I'm making a pit trap for certain but need some more ideas.
