Fast Travel.....thats why your character learns mark and recall spells
otherwise just walk, run, fly or swim builds character and muscle mass unless of course we can get a sled Enjoy Bob

Welcome to Silgrad Tower and Beyond Cyrodiil!
 Firstly, sorry for moving that post around a bit. Now, all mods are active currently, including Skyrim and Silgrad Tower, they are seperate projects (though part of a network collaboration). If you want to learn how to mod, that's great! The best place to learn the basics is the CS wiki, though that often leaves several questions unanswered. So, what I suggest is to read through the tutorial, and familiarize yourself with the CS. After that, do whatever you want to do in the CS with what you have learned. If you have questions, go ahead and ask them here. This is a very good community we have here, you'll probably get the answer you're looking for. So, what are your interests in modding? Also, be sure to post in the Intro thread (pinned thread in the Tavern). |

im mostly intrested in doing creature/player races and quests. I would like to learn about doing textures and models to. that 3d stuff seems very hard to learn =/.
I've already read som of the tutorials in the CS wiki. And i think i now the most basic stuff about CS. its just to carry on i suppose =D

Welcome aboard fwp_coder!
I posted my "big" hello in the other thread so I'll be a bit briefer (and not as bilingual) in this one. Yes indeed, modelling takes a long time to learn. The first choice is which platform to pursue, Blender or 3D Studio Max. I have a feeling TheImperialDragon would champion the former I'm a Max modeller through and through however. I tried Blender once but it left me dumbfounded. Admittedly so did Max, but I found it much much easier to find tutorials for that program. Freqent Google searches taught me a lot as I went along. I've been at it for a long time now, but I've never had the mindset that I would learn everything possible about the program; my mindset has been to learn what I have to learn in order to do what I want. So, some areas - like animation - are completely blank to me, but I like to think I've gotten better and better at the things I can do. And that's gone a long way, perhaps especially because as Oblivion modellers we have to rely on NifSkope, so there's not much need to learn about Havok through the modelling program because you can only work with it through NifSkope anyway. Time will tell if Shivering Isles is the first and last expansion pack. I'm excited about it as a player, but as a modder I know in the back of my mind that once they stop releasing expansion packs and "GOTY" repacks there's a big chance they'll release an official Max exporter. But I digress. Please feel free to pick up a claim on our claims boards and just let ut know if you have any questions. Good luck and have fun!
