A problem we might run into...

Please, get this information somehow. I have got three sized maps, all named aequitas_resized.dds, all in the correct folders, all the sime dimensions as the cyrodiil_resized.dds, with all the same alpha channels, and I've set it up correctly in the CS, with what I believe to be the correct cell setup, but I get no map in-game. I suspect it's something to do with the way you set up the useable dimensions, because in Tamriel it says it uses 2055 pixels wide, when the file is only 2048. Is that kind of correct? Please, I had jus about lost all hope trying to get this to work, and decided that it was hardcoded. I even got a dev response, who didn't know. Noah said:

Unfortunately, I do not know of when we will next be able to update public executables. Sorry I couldn't be of more assistance. Edit: Wait wait wait, when you say you had a name bug, and that you didn't try it with another worldspace, was this just a Cyrodiil map replacer? Was it for the Tmriel worldspace, and did the file have to be named cyrodiil_resized.dds? Because they're the only maps I can get to work, and it sounds a bit like that's what you mean with your post. Edit: To answer the question below: I tried that, and just about everything else than anyone might have to throw at me. Feel free to make a suggestion, but the chances are highly likely that it will have already been answered in the linked thread in my OP. |

Do you switch maps? Is "Small World" unchecked in the World Space editor?

If the zombies could, perhaps horses can too?

Could you please be more specific? What was it that you did and got to work? A cyrodiil retexture? Or a new map?

What I know is that they sent me Zephyr's map of Hammerfell, they might've done something with it before sending it to me; again, I wasn't invovled in the making of the map. I asked them, and they didn't remember an errors related to what they named it. I simply made the pixel dimensions a square and set the cell dimensions to the same height and width. When I loaded it in game, it was not the complete map because my resolution was low and they had sent me a high resolution map. I also managed to simply show the black part of the Cyrodiil map using only the CS, but that's trivially simple.
I'm sorry I don't have more information.

Ok that's great thanks, I suppose I'll try playing around with the dimensions in the CS, that looks like it might be it.

I believe the actual map file needs to be a square that is a square of 2, like 2048x2048 or 4096x4096.
You're using a seperate worldspace, right? I'm just curious.

It's 2048x2048, just like the cyrodiil_resized.dds. And yes, it's in a seperate worldspace. The 'useable dimensions' are what baffle me though, for the cryodiil map they are set to 2055x1830. 2055? that's wider than the image! So, I think that's the thing I need to crack, figuring out how to set the useable dimensions properly. Although, I swear it doesn't work. I'll try setting them to 2048x2048 for a square grid of cells, to see if the map shows at least.
Edit: It didn't work. |

I've been following this map thing, because I'm trying to do the same thing in my own mod. I dl'ed the new release from TR (Stirk) and they actually replaced the Cyrodiil in-game map with a dds file that is not cyrodiil-resized.dds. ... and it works in-game! I still can't figure out how to make it work in my own mod though. But maybe if you guys take a look at what they did, maybe you can figure something out.
