Wakey wakey
I begun noch a department in the cave now. A large room with waterfalls and elevated water, mixed nicely together with plants and crystals.

Okay... here's aprox an hours work. No light or vapor effects yet, just the layout. Nighty night.

The waterfalls look really good, but I'm not at all sure about the trees. Plants tend to need sunlight to survive. Mushrooms on the other hand, don't need sunlight at all (as they aren't plants). Perhaps you'd like to use parasols or muck sponges or similar instead?

Me and myself agreed that magically enchanted crystals would be the source of radiant energy
So I guess it won't seem too unnatural. I'll put up some new screenies this evening. Edit: I don't hope the size of the images screws up the forum too badly. --------------------------------------------------------------------------- --------------------------------------------------------------------------- --------------------------------------------------------------------------- --------------------------------------------------------------------------- --------------------------------------------------------------------------- As I pretty much predicted, the falls are quite tough on the graphics. But since it doesn't have to have that high fps, I don't think it matters that much. 'Tis but a hallway leading up/down/into another cell. I add some green/blue light so something could be seen ingame, since I haven't found time to add lights yet. Hoping to get some nice feeback Edit: Razorwing - I fixed the screenies for ya.

Wow! :pop: There is a part of me that says "Why add more lights?"
I really like the atmosphere this cave has ... I don't know why, but it looks kind of half unreal half photo-realistic to me. I really like that. :goodjob: But is it possible to resize the pictures? Maybe 800 x 600? Though the size is great to bring the atmosphere to the screen, it's a bit difficult to enjoy it scrolling along. Keep up the good work Greetings Quentin
That's what a ship is, you know. It's not just a keel and a hull and a deck and sails, that's what a ship needs, but what a ship is - what the Black Pearl really is - is freedom.

Outstanding job mate! Very well done. From the screenies, I don't think that you need anymore lights there either.

I'll resize the screenshots when I get home from school. I'm glad you all like it.

You've got a really nice setting going on there, Afrobent, I really like it. I don't think you need more brightness than you already have, the ambience is great in them, and if the player doesn't like it, well that's what the Light spell is for I can imagine the tension of walking along the edge of that waterfall without really knowing where the ledge is.
I fixed the screenshots and uploaded them to our website, as they screwed up the forum and took a long time to load. May I suggest that the next time you want to post a batch of screenies -- and please do, we love them! -- that you put them in a zip file and attach it to your post?

I have no plans on making it any brighter. I would merely make sunlight and ambient darker and add aquatic lights in the right spots to make it (even ) more dynamic and alive.
And about the size: I'll resize them, zip them or send 'em in a snailmail if you want. But first: History class... *sigh*
