There are several guides to producing new races which can be found online. Someone who's more familiar with nifskope and so on would probably do a better job than me.

for hair, i'd actually go with a helmet. its much easier to set up than hair, and yields the same result.

Especially if they're going to be non-playable.

@ LN: Ok, I'll make the cobra hood a helmet. Sounds easier to me.
@ Deeza: Yup, I can't seem to pull away from modding for any decent amount of time, hehehe. But I'm still on modding break - if anyone is gonna ruin my break, it had better only be me... :bitch: Here are some more WIP pics: http://img519.imageshack.us/gal.php?g=nagafemback2.jpg I finished the arms and hands, just have the head (and hood) to finish up. I know you can see the seams where the hands meet the arm, but can't be helped with my current skills and programs I have available to me. I have not made the black scales even blacker. That's also yet to do. Koniption
Yeah, don't let those little turds get you down. Dingleberries stick for a while, but eventually they fall off.

Why not give them all wrist guards which cover up the seams?

Quote:Originally posted by Deeza Those wristguards would have to be equippable, like hand gauntlets are done in the game. But it is possible to have the Naga's wear wrist guards, bracelets, and the like, by putting those items in the clothing or armor directory. This is how the Naga tail is done - I'm pretty sure it's entered in the CS as a clothing or armor item, that takes up both the lowerbody and feet slots. You'd then put this clothing (and make it unequippable) on a custom textured Argonian race (named "Naga" for the race). The game automatically uses the upperbody, hands, feet, lowerbody nifs from the "_Male" folder for all races...but the game does allow one to manually choose different and remodeled heads, ears, eyes, teeth, etc (mostly just parts related to the head). Basically, you don't want to edit the main body meshes themselves, to make those wrist guards, because all the other races pull from those body meshes, too, and also those wrist guards would not be able to be unequipped. Wearing vanilla/custom gauntlets should also help cover up the seams. Koniption

Thanks for the clarification. I actually meant force-equipped armor, not actual alterations to the mesh, but thanks.

Here are some pics of the head texture I worked on for the Naga:
http://img171.imageshack.us/gal.php?g=nagaheadback.jpg The head was the hardest part to do, in my opinion. Took more time than the other parts I textured. I tried to do something different in preparation for texturing the head, by lining it up to the texture for the upperbody mesh (re-scaled), to see if I could prevent neck seams by keeping textures similar in same areas....but as you can see, it still didn't work too well. I knew it was a long shot anyway. I can, however, probably make the cobra hood helmet such that it covers up the seam that shows on the back of the neck. I don't think the front neck seam is all that bad - the textures' patterns kind of hide the front seam a lot. Koniption

Wonderful job! I do like the pale eyes (they look like cold-eyed killers) but it might be worth experimenting with slit eyes. Maybe a slightly off-white colour or a gleaming black or black with a gold slit or something....
