RE: Ebonheart
uh what? it would help if you articulated your ideas in a manner that made some more sense.
so, if youre asking if ebonheart will be on the mainland? no, i doubt it. as for the imperial presence, the imperials are pulling out of morrowind, so i imagine their presence is reduced...

Somebody else already mentioned that Ebonheart was originally shown in early maps to be on the mainland, then was switched over to Vvardenfell. More maps were then produced by the Tamriel Rebuilt group showing two Ebonhearts, but that this was their own invention to reconcile the old and new maps. In our version, I believe that there is only one Ebonheart located east of Vivec like in TESIII. It will probably be very similar to how it was in the original game, though I am pushing for some kind of Imperial village on the island that lays on the far side of the fortress and is connected by one of the stone bridges.

yup, the instance of ebonheart being on the mainland was in the conceptual phase only... and as usual, i of course advocate the expansion of ebonheart :goodjob:

but Ebonheart was totally moved to Vvardenfell during final stages of developement of TES3
but I think expansion of Ebonheart is a good idea :goodjob: |

Yes, in Arena Ebonheart was on the mainland. The idea that TR came up with was renaming the city Old Ebonheart on the mainland so I won't think it would be a bad idea to continue that concept if it works in your plans.

Quote:Originally posted by Rodan well, did Bethesda say that the city: A) officially now never existed on mainland and is on Vvardenfell? B) moved the city and populance from mainland to Vvardenfell? I'm not sure exactly which.... but the ruins of an old abandoned Ebonheart would be nice... |

It was discussed quite extensively on TR's forum last spring. Since the discussion seems to be gone I uploaded a backup of it, which might be interesting to read. Google has a partial cache of it, but it doesn't carry all posts.
TR Discussion, Spring 2005: There is no 'Old' Ebonheart. Old Ebonheart does not exist. It is a Tamriel Rebuilt fabrication. To mod it in would go against lore and against Bethesda's intentions. black
Quote:Originally posted by MrSmileyFaceDude Quote:Originally posted by MrSmileyFaceDude Quote:Originally posted by MrSmileyFaceDude black
I've changed the original links MSFD refers to since they don't work anymore. The discussion isn't on ESF anymore but the quotes show up, partially, in the Dev Quotes #2 page on waiting4oblivion. That wasn't fully known back when TR made it up, but now we do, going by MrSmileyFaceDude's clarification that they moved Ebonheart from its traditional location to Vvardenfell. If you need a town, just find a blank spot not too close to an established settlement (map reference) and make it up from scratch... that's my humble opinion.
