I dunno...
but one thing is for sure... this mod is only gonna sink deeper and deeper if a heightmap isn't made... Axen, I appreciate your value on quality... but who needs a slightly more quality when the mod is just you and me? No, we need to get something started... I want a good Vvardenfell, but I also want Vvardenfell. You know what i mean? we need people, a team, and dedication... I have changed my mind. This mod is dying out at a rapid pace. I have seen it lose momentum before but this is terrible. You know the Ottoman Empire? awesome rise to power then slow and painful decline? yeah, that like us right now, we need to get things started... I mean it. I don't want to be harsh, but Axen,we need heightmap and if you are unwilling, well i hope it doesnt come to that my hope is a heightmap is out before November, month 11. :| |

And then do what with it? We still don't have many assets.

They see that no progress has been done, and their skills in modding with CS cannot be used. That is like a communist nation telling their farmers to sit around and do nothing while a shipment deal is made with another nation to get industrial machiens and farming equiptment... we need to do something, get people going... at least we can make places like Maar Gan, maybe Shishi, Odirniran, and maybe Ebonheart soon... these things will help us actually get things started... |

Assets are just as important, and we're badly lacking in that area. We should get work started in that area. And then we should have adequate assets by the time the heightmap is finished if it's made using GeoControl v2.

yeah, but that's no excuse for not starting on place that we CAN start on... like Redoran places

Though, Redoran towns are so organic (at least from the exterior) that it isn't really too much work (relative to other things) to make them. Not saying that they should be half-assed, but that they don't require as much mapping work.

look, it is the difference between doing something and not doing something
I say we do something... start the heightmap, make Aldruhn, start Ebonheart when the Imperial Fort tileset is available... etc.etc. |

Make the western coast for now, we can go further inland later. I have to agree with KuKulzA on this one, we need to get something rolling, even if it means releasing the heightmap bits at a time.
We should also set up claims for Ald-Ruhn interiors ASAP. |

I think we should start with West Gash and Bitter Coast... cause shack models, retexes of Imperial ones, and Redoran tileset should work fine for now

... And we still have no good method of seamlessly merging the heightmap pieces (which are limited to 4096x4096 in size, or 4x4 quads). The extra filters weren't really the reason for me waiting for GeoControl v2, they're just a side benefit.
