Wow, there's really nothing more to say. That thing is horrifying. I could definitely see it going in someplace like the Forgotten Forest, put on something that can only be described as bizzare.
I think the potential uses have already been discussed. Model-wise, i think it conveys the horror very well. it's bone-like, and the ragged appearance means that whatever's behind it shows through, giving the player but a glimpse of his inevitable death. One critique i do have is that the jaw section looks a bit weird. a bit more blocky than the rest, but that might just be because of the texture and angle. if there wasn't a lot of activity, i think it's because there's not much to debate, model-wise or use-wise. Both areas are basically good [edit] oh, and i'd like to take the opportunity to ask if you've seen my latest PM regarding textures. message tracking says you haven't read it Leader of the Morag Tong Hail Mephala

Seniosh: I easily forget to check my PM Inbox so thanks for the reminder. I'm not sure about the cheekbone looking "blocky". Do you mean that it looks thicker than the rest? If that's the case it is very angle-dependant, it could have something to do with the normal map. I'll look into it when I get it in-game.
I'll see what I can do about the West Gash textures too, it's my first time making this sort of texture so it'll probably take some time. Also, could you send a screenshot of the area the texture's going to be in so that I can make something like it in 3ds max to test the texture on?

I've tried the conformulator and I cannot get it to work. But I've got the glad news of that the helmet/mask looks good in-game. I must admit that it looks alot better in darkness (where it's supposed to be), than in broad daylight.
I don't understand what I'm doing wrong when it comes to the conformulator though. If I have time I'll try to learn it today (00.30 here).

Outstanding work VABG!
Maybe the character wearing the mask could have unsettling vails as its voice work? Sortof like Leatherface in the original Texas Chainsaw Massacre movie. Just something that crossed my mind. Hmm... *thinks* ...how are your modding skills? Because I would be saddened if the mask went unused for any period of time, but at the same time I know we only have so many modders and most of them are already hard at work on other jobs. To take an example from my own life I spent about six weeks modelling Redoran architecture so we could finally get the 'redoran headquarters' in the mod, but knowing how understaffed and overworked our modding department is I knew from the get-go I would be modding the location as well. Not that I didn't want to, because I did, but still. I think the best way of your mask being used in our mod in the near future, and used in a way that does it justice, would be if you modded the location and quest revolving around it. Would you consider doing that? I have no doubts someone in our modding team would put the mask to good use and mod a nice location for it eventually -- but it might take a very long time.

Whoa, that's mask of what nightmares are made of.
The texture could use improvemend to, it can look even better.

Donny: Exactly what part of the texture could use improvement? The current texture is generally a remake of the concept art. The current areas I know could use some improvement is the normal map and some general contrast change. Also making the hood-ish parts texture even dirtier.
Razorwing: It would be cool if they could have some less-than-human voice or something like that. I've never seen Texas Chainsaw Massacre though. My modding skills are quite rusty after a very long time of modelling only. I've never made a quest since I have no idea of how to do it. Modding the location shouldn't be a problem though, all I need to know is where a good spot for it could be (I know generally nothing of the landscape in the area of Silgrad Tower and all that). I'll concider it but I'm very busy at the moment (and until somewhat around spring). I've tried using the conformulator for a while now. I've got no idea what I'm supposed to do to make it work. And every time I use skinning for the mask, faces from the model disappear. I cannot find any tutorial on the use of the conformulator so I've only been able to test my way eehm.... nowhere. It works with the face-gen (not something I wanted) but I cannot get the look-in-the-right-direction to work when the head is absent. I did a version with skinning now, the problem I get now is that everything related to the model is rotated 90 degrees (to the left). I may have to take this to the official forum instead... .. . I have no idea on what I'm doing wrong. I could always rotate the model 90 degrees but then I'm not sure how it would work with skinning and all...... AAAAAARGH!! :bash: I'm taking a break for a while...

VABG: I searched youtube but didn't find anything. But nevermind, it was just a random idea that crossed my mind.
Hmm... *thinks* I figure the Forgotten Forest would be the best place since it has a horror theme going to it. But the area where it'll be is still blank landscape, so I think it would be hard to do much in the exterior world at the moment. But if it's ok with you the adventure could be contained in an interior cell and then it would just be a matter of us (me for instance) hooking it up to the exterior world once the forest is there. It would probably be best if you modded it with the moldcave tileset, of which there are a few examples in the mod one can check out to see how it fits together. I don't think it would be a problem at all if there wasn't a quest, it could be a blast to play in either case. For instance the player could get to fight through the location, defeat the boss, and take the mask off his body as reward. If one mods it like that then basically the whole adventure could be created by merely placing objects in an interior cell.
