Frankly, I dont know how to improve it, it just could use some, I cant put it to words.
Maybe Im just trying to say that it looks like face skin ripped out of someone, yet the color doesnt look like skin. If it's painted maybe some tribal logos, bloody hand on the face, tribal paint or something I dont know, just could use some colour. ?(

So that's what you mean. I've actually also been thinking about that. Having 4-5 texture variations would be better with some sort of color on it (red/dark red). I've also been thinking about the fact that if it's going to have a sort of end-of-stage-boss then that guy should have a bit more powerful look to it's mask. If I make the mask use a bit of the conformulators face-gen data then it'll also look different on different people. Though I must say that I prefer white instead of skin-ish color (and I also think that the concept looks like a skull). I've even been thinking about making it glow a faint white glow... Though I must admit I don't remember how to make a glow map.
One of the larger problems fixed... though I might have to choose between skinning or looking with the head since I have no idea whatsoever what I'm actually doing.

it could be like a very, very old skin wich is almost white. Mayby some red or blue veins or some wounds on it? scratches? Very nice model , good tolkning of the concept

For those of you who don't understand swedish, tolkning = interpretation... I think... :confused:
Anyhow, I was more thinking along the lines of streaks of dried up blood on them. Like if they have some kind of tradition of killing someone when getting the mask and making patterns on the masks. Not too artistic though, otherwise they may be seen as not too beastily (and I'd rather like them to be like that). It shouldn't be too difficult to make many different versions but it's best to keep it around 5. They will all probably be retextures since the model is quite difficult to modify without making stuff worse. 4 of them will be the "normal" ones. I'll probably make them all look as good as possible, choose the one that looks better than the rest and try to make it look even better = evil-psyco-boss-mask. I think I'll go with some glowing parts on that version.

Yup, that's the correct translation. One of my favourite sites is Lexin, which I use it at least once a week when I can't remember the correct English word I'm looking for.

But, I think it would look good with some kind of tribal patterns on the mask but very "primitively" done if you understand? Ja, primitiva målningar inte så fint annars kan det se lite konstigt ut

Well, here are some examples of possible patterns on the mask. Difficult to make them look cool and primitive at the same time. It's just the texture since I've got to edit some UV-mapping before they're done. (don't mind the afro)

They dont seem right on my eye. The last one with nothing on it, there's the grey stripe on eye, maybe something like that on red.

i like them all. why not use them all? have a few npc's with unique masks in a dungeon somewhere with a back story to them. a small cult maybe?
