Koi
Not sure if anyone on this team is good at rigging creatures, but there is a carp model that looks perfect when a koi "texture' is applied. I know people have made models then rigged them to the slaughterfish skeleton, but I have no idea how to do it. I could easily make a bunch of different textures for the koi (patterns etc) to fit the carp model if someone has the skills to rig it.
Heres the fish model download site- the model is called 'common carp' it's the forth row up from the bottom 3d fish models Here's that exact model with a decent texture applied. I have a good fish scale plug in for photoshop so I could make the textures look better than this. |

It also has a Japanese rice fish
It would be awesome if anyone could rigg those fishies =) There is a mod that adds Koi already, but maybe this model is better (or it's the exact same model).

So I found that mod your talking about with the koi in it. It's pretty good but I like this model much better (at least for the koi).
I messed around with the model some and got it pretty low poly and got it textured with a very realistic picture. If anyone can point me to a good 3D Max tutorial on how to rig a custom mesh to an existing creature skeleton (slaughterfish) I would be very thankful. |

That tutorial just has to be helpfull =)
We have a lot of water in our mod, so it would be awesome if we could get a lot of those fish models rigged (i don't know how much work that will be), we will need sharks more then anything. Ra, i hope it will be easy to rig the Koi and the other fish too :yes:

Yeah, that is a good tutorial, but it doesn't explain how to rig to an existing skeleton, only making a completely new one. Once I finish up the helmet I'll make another attempt at rigging (all my previous attempts have failed miserably). i have the koi optimized and textured so it will be very easy to replace with new textures. I'll post a pic when I get home.

Okay here is the pic of my first koi-
If I (or someone else) can get them in game, I'll make more textures and versions, but until then, I won't waste time on that. |
