Equality above all else... but I'm not familiar with that system. We have like 4-5 parties here.
The Forgotten Ones have returned.

I prefer it over old liberalism, but still I'm more for Solcialism. WE got like 10-15 parties over here.

Quote:Originally posted by Ebonyknight More or less. Four significant parties in Canada. A party widely labelled as corrupt (Liberal Party of Canada). Corruption, scandals, broken promises... They're leaderless at the moment, they are divided on just about anything as it is. They have somewhat little support right now, but they have the second-most power of any other parties, they have about 98 of the 308 seats in the House of Commons. They are left of centre on the spectrum. And another one that is a little better, and right-of-centre, but I don't think necessarily a lot (Conservative Party of Canada). They've also broken some promises, but are for the most part maintaining them. They are the current government with about 125 of the 308 seats. Then you've got the Bloc Quebequois that wants to divide the country and [EDITED] are really only for Quebec, impartial to anything else really... They have about 75 of the 308 seats, you can guess which part of Canada they came from if you're Canadian. Most people who vote for them don't want to seperate, but had no one better to vote for (the only other party in Quebec was the Liberal party, that lost support over the whole corruption/scandals/broken promises/etc... issues, only recently has the Conservative party been gaining more support in Quebec). Most people in Canada seriously hate Seperatism from this party (which claims to be acting only in the best interests of Quebec). And a far (relatively) left wing party that doesn't have much support (New Democratic Party), and would probably change things a little too fast to anyone's liking. With about 30 of the 308 seats I believe... And one that is really good, but will probably never even win a seat in the House of Commons (Green Party) because voting for them is just about the same as throwing away your vote, even if no one would mind having them as a government, because everyone is too busy voting for everyone else. In other words, not a lot of choice. Not much more to say, but this looks like a good site (for something I randomly Google-ed) if anyone for some reason want to know any more about the most recent election. |

Wow, some people who understand, read the manifesto and you will love the principles he lays down, but then some of the conclusions.... eh. So yes, no system thus far has satisfied me, but marx had the right idea and he did all he could do to change the world, not a single system of thought has been unaffected by him.
