The diffuse map is the color map, and the specular map is sort of the opposite of the normal map. It controls how shiny an object is, and what color the light will reflect.

as far as i know specularity is controlled by the alpha channel of the normal map in oblivion..

That's probably part of why my Royal Guard didn't turn out so well. Photoshop warned me that I would lose the alpha channel. I don't really know much about diffuse and specular maps though....

what do you know about blend settings in an animation? Apparently their needed to get forward animations to work properly? if not, do you know how to get forward movement to work properly? x edd

dont worry about it, i worked it out
I'd forgotten to move the Bip01 forward with the rest of the skeleton, and 'cause I'd imported another anim to look at it was exporting both sets causing wierd stuff to happen its all sorted now though though any info you have about how to use the blend settings would still be appreciated x edd
