there are 4 separate variants of the cave vanilla cave texture, each one only goes with one other. the vanilla cave tiles come in four variants, the new pieces might also have to do this to accommodate all possible texture matches.

I thought about something like bile a long while back but I've been so busy with everything else that's it's been put aside for now. Anyway, here are some possible textures for the caves. In order, they are:
Most of these have already been used or are marked for use in the BM regions but I couldn't decide on which option to go for whilst re-texturing them. I felt there was a distinct need for a dirtier, more marsh-like cave set. I'll also be looking into how I can create green versions of Senten's glowshrooms. Personally, I think my favourites are Mangrove and DirtySwamp...at a push.

4-6 are my favorites, with 4 being the best imo. the rest dont really look like rock imo, more just like sludge.

Yes, I think we're all agreed then because 4 and 6 are Mangrove and DirtySwamp respectively.
Regarding the tileset, the UV mapping is indeed the only major issue, I'm afraid. As a tileset, they wouldn't have much longevity with only the current models available. Particularly when they are so huge, it makes them hard to clutter interestingly so the tileset wouldn't be a common one. However, it would nonetheless be a nice refreshing little change...and perfect for 'rootworm caverns'....all for a filesize that is next to nothing! Plus, having the bridges and abysses offers some very interesting gameplay options even if I end up merging these models with vanilla caves.... @ Senten - You don't fancy making another glowshroom or two, do you? Some green ones would be nice!

I just added a few things to the CS such as the new armour sets and KP's new oilplants. I've sent PH the Gideon buildings so they should be ready for the next update too. In the meantime, I did a little work on the Flame Hut in Pholmolo and here are the results. It's not finished yet, although I'm using the Arden Sul altar hidden beneath a more fitting Dementia object. Obviously, I'll be altering the altar soon because it's referred to as the 'Arden Sul' altar and talks of the blessing of Arden Sul. This will be modified. I added some oilplants to brighten up Sloughpoint as well.

those plants look incredibly awesome (also IG, did you upgrade your comp recently? cause them screens are looking awful pretty
