Yeah, I've come up with a name of my underground city..
So, I'm just checking in to let you know I'm still here, I haven't gotten much done on it, I can't believe how much I've had to do lately, with most of my family coming up to visit me, my grandfather having to get rushed to the hospital twice.. I've thought out how the city will be divided, it will be as follows.. "City Gates" Where you walk into, basically just a area with a bunch of gaurds. "The market" Obviously, an area to buy items and what not.. "Residential" Where most of the NPCs will be, I might throw in a few shops in this area. "Militant" where the gaurds stay. I may have some dungeons too, if I decide to have the gaurds give quests, like clean out a necromancer or something to keep the city safe.. So far I have the city gates and market done, they just need NPCs. The residential will probably take me the longest to build, but I'm hoping things might calm down somewhat, I just need to keep the people that bring drama away from me..

Sunsetter: Sorry to hear about your grandfather. I hope he pulls through and lives on for many years.
The name you came up with sounds great I think, very atmospheric. Conjures feelings of something ancient that promises adventure Looking forward to some screenies, when you have the time. It's a Hlaalu town, right? Is mining the base for their economy? I love to think about those things; how NPCs support themselves, where they get their food, how a society works. A huge mining complex would certainly be a viable explanation as they would then sell the ore to buy food and other necesseties from nearby towns... probably Silgrad and Verarchen Hall. What do you think, Sunsetter?

Oh, uh... I kinda made it an underground town.. But, I can always change the way it's underground and scale up the akula(I can't spell it..) in Max and put all the houses and what not in that..

Quote:Originally posted by Sunsetter There's no problem with an underground town in itself, I think? Plenty of human cultures have even lived that way. You could just offer two or three claims on mines and perhaps someone will take them on? But if you want to go a different route that's okay too. What's an akula?

in_akulacave00.. I made a small vampire-like city using it.. It's really small, it's supposed to be a house for my character but I bring cattle/companions there and it seems like somewhat of a city..
Basically the final interior cell that you fight Dagoth Ur in.. It would be quite easy to build a city in, I was actually going to do something similiar as a seperate mod, but I can always do it for this, too..

Ok, then I know what akula is. I haven't worked with it in the CS.
I'm sure your village will make more sense to me after you post screenies :]

Update
Greetings to all,
Since Ive been using my work computer when hacking away at Vort Ancestral Tomb I forgot to backup my workfile. Keeping calm right now is very difficult given that my personal files have been wiped from the system during my 2 week holiday. Its looks as if I'll be starting from scratch. I have a 3 month business venture starting on the 22nd of August, which means that if the Vort Ancestral Tomb is required before December of this year then Im going to have to relinquish my claim. If so Id still like to help out where I can. Humble apologies, Sebastien (CNA)

Sebastien: I'm sorry to hear that.
I've added the claim to the tomb to the open claims list on the website. Edit 12.08.2005 02:54: I'm currently doing the crypt in Steadhelm and am having a ball playing with Barabus' excellent tile set. That set is a given for inclusion in the Oblivion mod. I expect to be finished sometime tomorrow. It'll be a peaceful place guarded by zombie NPCs who are unagressive, but set to own everything in the interior. So, disturb the place and they get angry; respect the dead and they'll leave you alone. It won't be huge or elaborate, but can hopefully entertain the player for a couple of minutes.
