Nice to see you so active, old bud :goodjob: . I shall be checking through the assets again shortly for the jungle and other regions and will try to locate these where I think they should go. Still clearing my voice acting dialogue at the moment, though...

If you take a close look at the screenshot in my second post (with the pictures), you will see two types of Ohelo branch laid side-by-side. One is from a healthy Ohelo and the one on the left is a diseased branch that looks like a witch's broom. The healthy one is fairly colourful but the other is a livid red with gnarled branches like brooms. Bear in mind that the Ohelo is more like a shrub than a tree...
Nice 'monkey-no-climb' btw...I wonder if we can get spines put in the trunk so that when the player scrubs past them they get a slight bit of damage...though this will probably affect the FPS in a big way...but if we were to double this up with a few unpleasant flora items that also damage you (a little bit like the Oblivion flora) then we'd have a really cool interactive environment for some areas...

Good idea ibsen with the damage idea, but its impossible to make in Speedtree.
Then the Monkey-no-climb version need to make in Nif.I can't make spines and i can't make to damage it. So its in only nif.Speak with Koniption,im sure he/she can do something. About the Ohelo: Allright the colourfull version is done,im going to working on the "broomlike" version.Thanks. |

Two ideas I had were the Black Marsh versions of the Dragon's Tongue (poisons you instantly if you try to pick its flowers) and the Somnalius Fern (instantly causes the character to faint if they walk past it). I got these out of a book from Morrowind that includes some stuff about Black Marsh.
I also had some other ideas (look at the attachment - some are mine, others are from the notes made by the original team)

Quote:Originally posted by Senten No, go ahead and make the speedtree version of the Sandbox tree. One can add the spines as a separate nif to the tree later on. Deeza/Ibsen - about the sandbox tree's exploding seedpods, this is the idea I came up with over at The Ocean Mod: If you approach the seedpods carefully that are beneath the tree, and activate them, you manage to pick up an unexploded seedpod that you can later place somewhere as a trap for someone/something else. But if you approach the pods without care and too quickly, they will explode and hurt you, rendering them unusable as traps at the same time. Therefore, the seed pods should be slightly animated flora, that you place on the ground that you can activate to get an "exploding pod". Flora in oblivion also can attack, like the spiddle stick plant and such. We can make it so if the player sneaks up to a seedpod, they won't set it off and they can get a seedpod bomb. But if the player rushes things and runs or walks to the seedpod, they seedpod explodes and hurts them, becoming unusuable in the process. This gives incentive to allow such damaging flora to be in the mod, without as much annoyance, if anyone does complain. Koniption
Yeah, don't let those little turds get you down. Dingleberries stick for a while, but eventually they fall off.

Indeed! Very cool.
@Deeza - Yikes! I'll have to read through this now. At the moment, I'm just collecting basic models for the jungle preset but I think these can be added later. You wouldn't want to swamp the area with them...which leaves me open to do the region editing.
