I say we contact waalx as soon as is possible. I did try to contact him myself a while ago, but I'm sure the guy is very busy and he can't get around to answering every message he gets. Ibsen or Tlo may have better luck than me, being a veteran modder and BM project leader respectively.

Of waalx's other resources, I think the ones we could use the most would be:
The Crocodile and Black Alligator
The "Armless" Lizard and other small lizards
The Warthog
I can't remember if he did a tapir model?
The shark

I don't know the full list, but those were the ones which seemed most important and suitable for BM to me. Your thoughts? Anything else you'd like to add to the list?

That lizard mount would make a fantastic player reward for completing some of the hard quests!

I'm aware of Waalx's great skills but I've not spoken to him before. He was signed up at ST for while but hasn't been seen. I'm not sure where else I could go looking, to be honest. ?(

He has TONS of other creatures we can probably use, but no sense in listing them, I'll just put some pics up and we can decide. WAC is also a complete revamp of oblivion. All the armor has been re-done, new weapons, etc etc. I think you will all be very pleased.

I have added information discussed above to the first page of this thread as a reference point. This includes what has been more or less decided upon about the Kothringi and Orma along with Tlo's excellent proposal for the Naga.

I will later confirm the use of some of the creatures as we progress. In the meantime, can anyone suggest any other specifically lore-based that we will need, either as an NPC race or as friendly / hostile swamp creatures? I can then add these details to the first page.

Also, if you have claimed a region or city, it might be best to carefully select your Argonian tribe. Please ask when doing this as the inclusion of different breeds would be best deployed strategically, whether that means doing it by region or by relevance to the mission details in the local area.

We need some kind of savage, non-intelligent lizard-man, it was decided a long time ago. But it was never decided whether we should scrap this and just say it was inaccurate reports of the Naga.
If we decide to have a separate lizard-man race, I would go with the Zuili.

I agree to your idea about the tribes and placement of new varieties of Argonians. The Sea Argonians would probably be confined to the Mangrove Coast Regions and Riverlands (ie. the south and south-east coast of the map). The Saurians would only be found in deep Murkwood. Others would also have their own regions.

But perhaps it would be a good idea to include a mixture of Argonian breeds in some of the more cosmopolitan cities, given that they represent immigrants from all over Black Marsh?

Plus: The Grey Wizard already made an "Agaceph" race - very brightly-coloured Argonians found in the inner Black Marsh. Argonian Races; Agacephs The Agacephs are in lore, so we need to include them. But maybe one of the other new races would do better, given that Grey is now inactive?

Just a thought:

If we ask waalx for personal permission to use some of his creatures in Black Marsh, should we ask just for ourselves or on behalf of the rest of Beyond Cyrodiil as well? It seems to me that it would effectively finish all the creatures we need not just for Black Marsh, but for Skyrim, Valenwood, Elseweyr and High Rock all in one shot. It would also be everything needed for Summerset Isles (not an official BC project I know, but hopefully it will be soon once the first beta is released).

As I understand it, waalx's plan was to include spawn points and hunting grounds across the borders of Cyrodiil as part of his mod. If we promise to only use particular groups of creatures in specific provinces (crocodiles in Black Marsh, rhinos in Elseweyr, sabretooth tigers in Skyrim etc.), perhaps he would be more willing to grant us permission, as it would be a logical extension of his vision for his project?

The problem with that, is that he has closed his open mod resource policy for WAC because of all the amazing work he has put into it. I fear that If I ask for too much he'll be hesitant to let us use it. I can ask specifically for the other BC projects, but they'll have to contact me personally about it. We'll see how things go, and I'll get back to you on it. :goodjob:
