POLL: Ordinators OR Armigers: if we had to make 1 unjoinable

Quote:So many Ordinators come from House Indoril that the armor style is known as 'Indoril' armor, though knights of all Great Houses may serve as Ordinators. So...if an outlander rises to the level of knight (Great Houses have knights?) they may have the ability to become an ordinator? Or, much like my internship applications, would they be conveniently lost in the shuffle?

Hmm... well I was told a long time ago that only members of House Indoril can serve as Ordinators, and that made perfect sense to me. Their armor is named after the House, which played into my impression that the whole Ordinator guardforce were brought over to Vvardenfell from regions where the Temple had more influence. And Indoril is the House that has the closest connection to the Temple I think.

Quote:Originally posted by Joe Venicehahaha, same with many of my job applications! ![]() anyhow, I guess you could, but most outlanders have a tough time getting higher up in any Great House not to mention gettign anywhere close to Ordinator.... my fear is that eventually we will somehow come to a conclusion to ax both but Ordinators have a wider range of possibilities, and an excuse to wear Ordinator armor and Buoyant Armigers would be a new playable faction and a chance to slay monsters ...perhaps Vampire Hunter's Should be merged with Buoyant Armigers? who knows, but I got the Vampire Hunters idea from a Vampire quest in TES3 where there was a well armed Vampire hunter I think you had to kill or something |

I would think that Vampire hunting would be more in the Ordinator line of work, like an Inquisition. I also think that Ordinator status has a lot more to do with Temple rank than House rank; after all, they are the Temple's police force, not the Houses'. And yes, the Ordinators are definitely a multi-House force in background. The Indoril founded the order I believe, as they are the House whose territory holds the cities of Almalexia and Necrom, but the ranks should be made up of all the Houses with larger percentages from the devout Houses like Redoran and much less from Telvani.

RE: POLL: Ordinators OR Armigers: if we had to make 1 unjoinable
I will not vote in this - but w/out having read all the replies I would like to draw your attention to the conversations I am sure you all had with Vivec (whether or not you killed him/her) when you were the Nerevarine...
Thing is do you want to tie into: Redoran (Armigers) met them at the ghost gate or in the fortress Molag Mar on the South Coast of Vvardenfell; or the fourth House (Ordinators,) who were the lesser servitors of Almalexia = Look at the armor of Almalexia's personal guard...her supporters, and Vivec look alikes. So which faction will bend and which will break? I suspect that Vivec will decide on one and the other will ber reabsorbed into the relevant Great House. If the Armigers are Redoran and are abolished, then Redoran will grow immesurably stronger with their re-absorbtion, and will have to be a might more flexible to keep the loyalty of those who found the home-surrounds and ways too stifling. If the Ordinators are abolished they return to that otherparet of the mainland - and numbers return to the other great houses too = very hard to adjust to Great House Ways and the Great houses become far more rigid to accomodate... Even if I am wrong about the basic affiliations of the two groups I feel that Vivec would prefer to work with the Armigers from now on, and the return of the Ordinators would explain why the Great Houses become unbending enough to start an open war... [edit] ah, I see that Razorwing has hit the nail on the same head about affiliations - so what would Vivec prefer?
Because loyalty is not to be spoken of and honour is to be endured. Whilst courage is to be survived. These virtues belong to silence.

The Armigers are also an inter-House group as I understand, though largely made up of Redoran, the House most concerned with Red Mountain, just as the Ordinators are made up mostly of Indoril, the House most concerned with the Temple-held parts of the mainland. Both are under the banner of the Tribunal Temple, but while the Ordinators are subdivided (Mournhold reported to Almalexia and probably also to Sotha Sil prior to his reclusiveness while Vvardenfell report to Vivec), the Armigers are Vivec's alone. The Armigers are also a more tollerant and rag-tag group, indicated by their varied armor instead of uniforms like the Ordinators have. Think hot-shot fighter pilots versus special forces, both within the same branch of the military and reporting to the same people.

exactly.... making them both cool and kickass
except hot shot fighter pilots aren't exactly influential... but navy seal of the USA probably have a bigger influence... |

but hotshot fighter pilots are still cool.... :poorme:
funny thing is, I voted to down Armigers because of my duty to the team and mod-players... :] but deep down inside, I'm not an organized crusade, I am a brave warrior-knight ![]() actually, I like Armigers better than Ordinators, but that's all just me... |

Same here, but I want the armor legitimately, and I want to have an Ordinator conspiracy of some sort. Those just can't happen if we go with the Armigers, unless we just have ex-Ordinators pawning off their armor, but that's really not all that believable or cool in my book.
