I understand that Ja-Kha'jay is working on the heightmap, but RL is getting in the way a bit. I'm sure she'll get it done. She is due to be going on a big holiday sometime soon: I just hope it can be ready before that. Is it possible to create the presets using dummy heightmaps and small region samples that you could test with, and then for someone else (ie me at this rate...!) to load them up with the real heightmap when it is available? Don't worry about trying to squeeze Oblivion into a stuffed drive just now, though: I still have to get the resource file ready and I expect that will take a few weeks.

Perfect! If you think it will still take you a few weeks to do the resources, then I will probably have gotten some more space, and temperatures will be more agreeable.
In another month or so. At the end of September\middle of October I should be ready to start generating. The problem with using small regions as samples is that it doesn't give you a clear idea of what's it's really going to be like (And I know, I tried it, and failed). For the following reasons: Stuff that has a low density won't show up at all, in small regions. Stuff that has a high density clogs up the test ara, but when you run on the big region with the same values, it's perfect. We just need patience. Anyways, TES V seems to be a reallllly loooooong time in coming, so we'll all ready and done. Hehe. |
