Actually, I've seen mention of Rimmen in Oblivion (it's apparently not uninhabitable nor uninhabited), as well as more specifics on Oblivion Gates, Conjuration, Soul Gems, and various other things that previously had not been explained. Being Arch-Mage of the Mages' Guild comes with perks like that.
By the way... Major Spoiler for the Guild of Mages questline: The plotline of the Guild is defending the Guild from the Cult of the Black Worm, which worships Mannimarco, the King (God) of Worms. In the final quest you must kill Mannimarco. He's a total push-over and ridiculously pathetic (after going through three Nether Liches, I see what looks like yet another Necromancer - after killing him, I am informed that he was the King of Worms - I was very disappointed), but he ends up dead. You get the Staff of Worms, the Necromancers are scattered and defeated, and you are the new Arch-Mage (because the old one kills himself for no apparent reason). I actually plan on revamping the Mages' Guild as a mod, because there are a lot of things that need fixing with that Guild. This may or may not effect this mod in regards to Rimmen. End Spoiler
