yeah.... but I do like the southern isles fort idea.... i mean, what will defend Vivec City from the south.... if not use the isles and fortify them, then what?

I have no big opinions here, but I think that the whole argument for or against the islands rests on whether Vivec needs to be fortified to begin with, and then whether or not a city built out of towering fortress-like structures needs perimeter defenses. Clearly, I am sensing some disagreement here.

well, from a lore stand point they're not there, from a practical one... they could be...
but think on this, if perimeter defenses for vivec are in place, what are they there to protect from? (it's the middle of the inner sea, but hey, it could be dangerous) how are they going to do the protecting? (no cannons or anything of the like, what then: magic? just ships and guards?) more questions like these must be asked and answered before i think we'll have the best look at the idea

Question: If Vivec is dead, what's his palace being used for now? Will it just be a tourist attraction like Elvis Prestley's house?

I answer cyronaut then we get back to discussing defenses
if Vivec dies he will be like one of the greatest saints of Dunmer and his palace will be like one of the holiest places... |

i dotn realy see the reason why anything needs to devend vivec at all. morrowind dosent ahve much of a pirate problem, and there havent been any wars or major convlics warenting the forts in a while. plus they werent there in MW.... they jsut look wrong to me...

exactly the point i was trying to emphasize with this little (unacknowledged) post:

umm, i'm not seeing the connection... are you saying that just becasue the bouyant armigers have a stronghold the ordinators should too? They have one, the halls of justice. Furthermore you completly ignored the idea of critically analyzing the purpose and history behind the triple stronghold idea!
