I have a feeling you are disheartened by the harsh realities of such a tasking sort of enjoyment...
think about it... we need to mobilize volunteers brought together for a very unfeasible task that usually has a low survival rate and possibly low feedback sometimes... happens to big mods a lot.. but I think your idea isn't crap, not very feasible... but I was like that sometimes when I first came.... now I know you are probably gone now... but have you considered making ONE plane of Oblivon? have you considered checking if ONE of the mods has the possibility of the player visiting a PORTION of Oblivion? and if so, you coul ddefinitely help out in that, and maybe when you CAN mod, ask if adding onto what bit of Oblivion was made to make the real world is okay with the mod-leader... I am not saying that your idea WILL succeed, but there are other ways than making all planes of Oblivion and without much modding skill or knowledge... and they might eventually get you where you want but since you are sorry to bother us, I guess what I have said is no use, but as you don't bother me, hopefully you come back, check on this thread and consider it... I mean, ther ehas been talk in Silgrad of maybe making a bit of Azura's Realm... the quiet Dreugh mod between me and bob is gonna let you visit Molag Bal's Coldharbour (though the mod is NOT in Beyond Cyrodill) and I am sure others have stuff as well perhaps.... just have patience and see it through, it may be rewarding, and if not, at least you will have made a few acquantences and maybe picked up some experience along the way.... if this guy doesn't come back and loses heart forever that's sad either he got low self-esteem or we too blunt with newcomers  hrug: well, thats reality but there are ways to persist... |

Planes of Oblivion though, I do like that idea. I say there is a chance something like that may very well work, granted we let the projects finish up whatever planes they're having, leave out Sheggs and Dagon, and there, only half of need to be done.
Lol what?

Above posts veered off topic. That discussion is extracted to this thread. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Sorry to somebody, btw. While I personally don't disagree with how you were told, I do agree with the bottom line. You need both more experience in both leadership and modding. With those, I'm sure your mod would prosper. But without, any mod would be doomed to fail. |

I agree it's kinda silly to try and start a mod team without knowing how to mod, especially since I don't see how anyone would want to join such a team. But it's better to try and inspire newbies to learn rather than ridicule them. Who knows, maybe he would have learned. Maybe six months down the line he would have modded an interior for one of the teams. Maybe he would have joined a BC team from the get-go. Who knows. But what I know is that being friendly to newbies is a lot more effective, because you never know what difference that person might make. Unless you laugh at them, because in that case it's decidedly none.

I personally think that a project can't be lead by a person that has no skills, especially no modding talent. Though ideas are good, talent and ideas are even better. And if someone was to create the realms, then you would have to do 13, because Dagon's has been done and Sheogorath's, and the Tamriel Rebuilt team is working on Quagmire (to go along with their Hammerfell main quest), Namira's nightmare realm. I've had a look at their concept art, and it's coming out very nicely, especially the new creatures that are going to be introduced.
