More RAM wouldn't hurt, I think.

For Morrowind, yes, but there is now way Oblivion will run with 512Mb of ram. This game really requires 1GB to run close to smooth, if not 2Gb.
A new processor would also help. |

Yup. Sorry bob, it's not nearly enough. I even regret only getting 1024 mb, but I only had so much money to spend. I think the RAM makes a particular difference with the loading times. It's pretty fluid for me in the exterior world, but entering a city or other separate location takes annoyingly long to load.

You can probably get half a gig of ram for about 50 bucks. How about a Geforce 6800 GT?

Well I suppose I might just buy a new PC with all that stuff in it
I thought just getting the grphics card would do it so I limited myself to $300.00 but I suppose if Im go get a new one I might as well get the 2 ghz memory and the GeF 7900 or even 7950 I know nothing about that stuff thanks for the info Bob

If you want a top of the line graphics card get the Radeon X1900xt. I have it and it runs Oblivion and Hl2 episode one and all source games perfectly at 1600X1200 At max with 6x AA, and 16X AF. I heard its better than the geforce 7900 too.

Thats what I was just lookin at that
My wife wants me to get a Dell but with all the cool stuff I want on it, were talkin $2700.00 I can get an HP with all the cool stuff and the ATI X1900 AND 4GHz RAM for only $1,900 the only think Im not sure about is this Pentium D processor. I never heard of it. I think thats a better deal though I have had trouble with HP's in the past Bob

RE: graphics
Hmm, I have an HP and it works pretty well. The software on it is cruddy though. Hmm, aren't Athlon processors better at running games than pentiums, something how the structure connects with the graphics card.
