Why do I think we'll end up using loads of movies in the end?
The Forgotten Ones have returned.

[offtopic]has any mw/oblivion player ever heard of machinema? i seriously think obliv would make a great machinema engine. i actually plan on making one eventually based off the HALO storyline but with mw & ob in it.[/offtopic] no, i think most of the ashland women & children would ride in carts while in transit therefore we only really NEED (at least if were making a lite version) the male npcs + 1 or 2 females + the pack animals, Quote:A_flyboy: p.s. teabagging banana! ==>:bananarock:<== oh no a michal jackson class noob!!!!!! I'm sure there's plenty of expert OB help that can offer advice on how to get it done. Not quite sure if the Scripting is the same as MW but I believe it has something to do with GetDistance... so basically the pack up wouldn't begin until the PC is out of that Distance Range ????? or you can just have it so that when the PC enters the Cell all the stuff gets packed, when the PC approaches the camp, he/she will just see a bunch of Ashlanders and loaded down guar Enjoy Bob

This sounds very nice and it probably is, but you don't want this to be visible for the player if you're going to do it.
- the chance on errors is big with a lot of scripts - you'd have to make different stages of (un)packing for each object, tents don't (dis)appear out of nowhere - double AI packages for all NPCs with conditions to switch That's an awful lot of work for something the player isn't going to watch more than once, if he/she is going to watch this at all. If you want to move the ashlander camps once in a while, go ahead, disable one version of the camp and enable another version of the camp a few days later. You'll need two version of the camp for that and every object needs to have a script, be a persistent reference or be targetable by a spell. The spell is probably the easiest, you can make a scripted area of effect spell and everything in the camp will be disabled or enabled depending on which camp it is. I'm not sure this will work, but if it does, I don't think moving ashlander camps is impossible. If you can't use the spell, you shouldn't try to move them, to much work and to much possible errors. |

Make the moving season bound, Like move south in the winter etc.
"Why would I be bound by rules if I can see so far beyond them?"

I don't intend for this to be the case for ALL ashlander tribes though... the ones in the West Gash are relatively secure around the Samsi River basin, the Ahemmusa won't be moving around too much, and the Zainab and other Grazelanders might be a bit more stationary for the sake of being able to be accessed easily by Hlaalu and Telvanni traders. But the war-like Molag Amur tribes like the Erabenimsun move quite a bit as do the Ashlander ashlanders
Qazaaq: you bring up good points, thanks. Though it isn't necessary it is something good to have Quote:Originally posted by Mormacilthats a good point, so maybe half the year in one place and the other half in another hrug: |
