How to make 1080? I get only 480

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CARu4GDADFk
Is the source file 1080p?
hmm.. good question, where can I find that out?
The source file is usually the same resolution as your in-game resolution, depending on what you've got your screen capture software set at.

The render file (the one you upload to YouTube) has whatever resolution you set in the render settings. Most software will have a Windows Media (WMV) template for 720p-30 and 1080p-30, which will result in HD video on YouTube.

Depending on your OS, you should be able to see the resolution by checking the file properties for either file.
Hmmm.. It says 720*480
Then you'll get 480p on YouTube.

For HD video, you'll need 1,280 x 720 = 720p, or 1,920 x 1080 = 1080p. In other words, the vertical height is the number the HD format is named after.
Just a thought...but that sample video you uploaded looks quite clear to me...it certainly looks like a higher resolution than the last one...although that may be due to your new PC...
Just a quick note.

The final trailer should be of no lower resolution than 720p, but in my opinion we should really aim for 1080p if we can. It would require that the in-game footage be recorded in 1920 x 1080 (widescreen) but it not only sends a professional message but also leaves a lot more room for details, particularly in the case of text.
You'll need a decent to be able to run at that resolution with a good framerate while running the likes of FRAPs.

The end result might be better, but I'm not sure it's really worth such effort. I don't think it's the resoulution that is gonna make the trailer but rather the content in it and how it's recorded.
That could be true. A move to high quality can interfere with the practicalities.
