. . .
Ohio is the middle of nowhere not the end of the world dumb___ (jk). DUH! If you look at things from a 4 dimensional perspective, washington DC is probably the end of the world, when we have a WWIII, DC will probably be flatened, Ironically solving some of us in the... Uh ... US's problems (U S, What a stupid abreviation for a country . . . YO Im from us, dee dee dee) as there is no such thing as a good politician in WADC, or candidate for that matter. . . well, At least, solving some problems as long as we live. Man, I just realized how nice it is to live off to the side of nowhere. (lol?) Quote:A_flyboy: p.s. teabagging banana! ==>:bananarock:<== oh no a michal jackson class noob!!!!!! Quote:Arbiter |

Since this has become a thread defining the various "middles of nowhere," I got a real kick when I first read Why I Left Harry's All-Night Hamburgers, the Hugo- and Nebula-winning SF story by Lawrence Watt-Evans. It's about a transdimensional nexus put at a spot that never ever gets destroyed in any of the possible catastrophes that can hit the US in any of the various probability-dimensions.
The kicker? I was born and raised about 10 miles from that fictional spot. Steve |

The edge of the world is everywhere and nowhere, but you will always be in the middle
Lol what?

I'd be rather worried if I was in the middle, a core of ultra-hot molten iron doesn't sound like a very nice place to be. Edit: Hmm, this thread seems to have gotten rather off-topic. |

To put it simply, if you look all around you (supposing there's nothing in the way) you can see the edges of the world, which are everywhere based on from where they're seen. But, you will always be in the middle of your world, if that makes any sense.
Lol what?

Yeah.... No.
"Reality is that which, when you stop believing in it, doesn't go away." Expect to hear that a lot. There isn't a your world, there is A world (all encompasing, not planet). If you set out looking for an answer, you've presupposed that there is one to be found.

Gah, it's not to be taken like that. I'm saying it based on location, not concept. You can see what appear to be edges, which can be anywhere, but you can never reach them because to you, you're always in the middle, while to someone else a far ways away, you could be on the edge.
Lol what?
