I think I want to write an in-depth account of the battle of ald'run.
obviously this isn't a history text since the battle just happened but It could be a way of informing the masses of the true nature of the attack. It would be written by a redoran, maybe a diary? Heres the general plotline in my mind. 1. Daedra invasion, Ald'run draws inward, fortifying walls and so on 2. A council or Redoran (maybe with help of the telvani?) begin the ritual to raise Ald'Skar and possibly the rest of the city 3. The Daedra break the outerwalls spilling into the city 4. The crabs and dunmer soldiers go head to head witht he daedra in a bloody battle 4.5. some civilians who are not part of local militias escape with the help of certain redoran soldiers 5. After a long and bloody battle, ald'run is destroyed, the crabs are not smashed but have been toppled and any remaining soldiers retreat into the mountains (towards ghostgate) 6. The daedra begin their advance to ghostgate 7. Reinforcements from the Mainland land in g'nis and work their way to ald run 8. ghostgate is fortified, Indoril Ordinaters (the ones from the outpost) and Redoran Warriors prepare for the insuing hord. 9. The reinforcements arrive in ald'run 10. The Deadra arrive at the makeshift walls of ghostgate and The battle of ghostgate begins, lasting for days 11. reinforcements arrive at ghostgate, flanking the deadra. 12. the deadra are vanquished. hooray! *i didnt make the picture, it just looked special.

Not a bad idea if you ask me. It just needs to be written on a more personal level.

Are or are we not using Ald Skar. If not i Say lets not trouble ourselves building a huge crab. Lets have the top of the shell sticking out of the ground. Look just like a hill and maybe a pincer and a couple of legs sticking out of the ground.
Some say im here, Others say im there, but really... I am every where

hmm... I've always seen it more like...
1. Rumbling, great Oblivion gates appear 2. Redoran militias gather and a few nobles and civilians are rushed out to Bal Isra. Many of the 50% outlander population actually stands by the Redoran, to defend the city they know and love 3. Daedric forces quickly surround Ald-ruhn and a detachment destroys Buckmoth Legion to prevent an attack on their rear 4. All at once Daedra crash in on Ald-ruhn from all sides and the Redoran fight to the dead 5. St. Jiub, with a few Ordinators, telvanni, and Armigers comes from Ghostgate having heard a rumor that Ald-ruhn is under attack 6. He battles his way into the city, but Daedra keep streaming out... more people die giving ground slowly 7. Redoran and Telvanni magicians make a desperate move, animate the souls of the ancestor-crab corpses and Ald-Skar, Ordinators, Armigers, remaining Redoran, and St. Jiub with Redoran leaders hold the Daedra off as the ritual commences 8. Most of the Daedra are killed but they succeeded in taking down all but Ald-Skar, the 10+ survivors and the magicians are told to flee and St. Jiub holds the Daedra back 9. Jiub (and most of Ald-ruhn and his Temple-group) dies but the Redoran leaders return with a Redoran force gathered in emergency, and they follow the diminished Daedra who are rushing towards Ghostgate 10. Daedric army is crushed between Ghostgate and oncoming Redoran army quickly joined by local Ashlanders 11. Redoran leaders return to Ald-ruhn, Ralos Venim vows to rebuild the city and the other councilors go to their own towns to take care of the people, Duke Vedam Dren sponsors a campaign to rebuild the city. Telvanni and Temple forces kill what minor Oblivion invasions do occur but the main one on Vvardenfell has been killed in a phyrric victory against the Redoran. Hlaalu are just happy to be alive and suckin their thumbs, but no doubt they'll try to hit the Redoran while they;re down, or hit Telvanni while their wizards are away closing Gates Ataridante: I was gonna write one as well it's okay though, its an epic event, I'm sure more than one dunmer will write about it Ebonyknight: I say we DON'T slack, especially not on this... Ald-Skar is monumental, having a sprawled and dead-lookin giant crab husk with the look of having been in a giant battle.... that'll be amazing and have a huge effect in general |

An idea just struck my head when wrote that paragraph kukulza. How many councilmen are there like 6? We could all have them ruling their own towns. Like Ald Velothi Maar Gan and the Others and finally expanding them which they needed. While Ralos Venim is rebuilding the Ald Skar his permeant residence is at his Dwemer stronghold.
Some say im here, Others say im there, but really... I am every where

Quote:Originally posted by KuKulzA Actually, a typical daedric invasion is more like this: 1. One by one, three normal oblivion gates open, Daedra pour out from these. 2. The great gate opens (there is only one), and the siege engine slowly exits. Three normal gates must be opened first. 3. The siege engine launches fireballs at the city and burns down everything in sight. 4. The siege engine leaves, and the daedra flood the city to kill everything they can.

Quote:Originally posted by Ebonyknightwhen you arrive in Vvardenfell thats how it will be... Bolvyn Venim kept the councilors in Ald-ruhn for their safety but also to control them better... but Ralos knows they should return to their towns and strengthen Redoran economy, clan-ties, and get people trained and ready Ralos isn't the fascist his dad was, but let's say he has his own dictatorial streak |
