I'd loft the railings and use a 6 sided cylinder for the shape. That way, you have complete control over the number of side the shape has and the number of path steps, which can be adjusted on the fly.
6 sides should be enough for the rails when they are smoothed as they player will likely never see the ends, which might give away the shape, as they are embedded in other parts of the object. It might be that you have to sacrifice some of the more poly intensive bits e.g. the pink ropes in the wireframe. I'm afraid that's part of optimisation. |

BusterWolf sent me a copy of the ropebridge the other day. I worked a bit on the mapping and on the collision, and now it's finished and will hopefully become a fairly common sight in Silgrad Tower v3.0. Here's a few Construction Set shots of how it looks, with a random NPC for size reference.

Isn't this a bit too big? It's looking abit...off. If you think the same Razorwing, I give you permission to change it. I'm having problems with my internet for now and can't communicate much. But seeing it in-game really is good sight.
