The Fourth Age quest Soluthis 1211
This Quest Idea is now open for discussion
It is to coincide with Soluthis claim 1211 ******************************* Hello Bob196045, I'm currently working on an interior of a house which will contains a quest. I had the following idea for the quest (it's quite a big quest): The player first talks with the woman (Duan) in the house, she'll tell that her husband (Luthan) has been quite dismal lately. That's because he's working on a great project of his own. He's collecting all the fourth books of The Fourth Age. These books are very rare and hard to get. When the reader's got them all, he can discover how to create a portal to The Fourth Age. Luthan's found already three of the four books. He found them to search carefully for clues in the books. But he can't discover the place of the fourth book. He has, however, discovered that it should be in a great ruin. Luthan asks you for help. Ofcourse you'll help him, and he'll give you a copy of the page that tells about the ruin. The player should read the document and discover the hints leading to the fourth book. If he can't find them the questlog will tell them also. This is the text that's on the page (I've used Skingrad and it's exterior as temporary place.): "<DIV ALIGN="CENTER"><FONT FACE=1><BR> Secrets hidden in the Forest<BR><BR> <DIV ALIGN="LEFT"><BR><BR> About the Ruin of Elcador<BR> <BR> The Ruin of Elcador was once an enormous castle in The West Weald. Various lords stayed in this wonderful castle. But disaster strucked when the Elves serving lord Unbacador, murdered everyone in the castle and burned it to the ground. There where no survivors. And it's being told that the haunted spirits of the lord Unbacador and his family are still in the ruins of what was once the most beautiful place on earth. <BR> Many thieves and gangs tried to claim this ruin as their own, but they were doomed as soon as they entered the ruin. Their spirits are now haunting The Ruin of Elcador. It's told that only an adventurer with a golden soul can enter this castle, and leave it alive. <BR> Nobody knows where The Ruin of Elcador actually is. But they're are very old notes telling that it's southeast of Skingrad, near the border of Esweyr. It's told to be surrounded by enemies and creatures, not to mention the evil spirits that are haunting the Ruin itself. <BR> THE PAGE IS RIPPED HERE <BR> <BR>" When the player arrives at the ruin, he'll find a little camp with a very terrified thief. He prays you not to enter the ruin. He has lost all his brothers in there. The player has to fight many ghosts, zombies and other undeads before he'll reach the book. (I will try to make this ruine very beautiful and scary from the outside and very, very scary from the inside) When you've handed the book over to Luthan he'll say that he'll need two days to look for the clues to make the portal to The Fourth Age. When those two days are over he'll ask you to follow him outside. He'll create the portal there. (You can think of this as Martin who creates a portal to Cameron's Paradise) He'll ask you to retrieve an object (I don't know what yet) out of The Fourth Age which is very valuable to Luthan. You'll have to search for clues here also and you'll have to defeat creatures. You'll also find civilised people in The Fourth Age. But there are not many of them. When you've finally retrieved the object and you've returned to Luthan he'll reward you with a lot of gold (What's reasonable, you think?) and one of the most valuable pieces of armor out of his collection. And completing this quest will also rise your General Disposition. It's quite a big quest, but if it's approved I will be most happy to work on it. Could you please let me know what you think of it? Bye, Sanpicture p.s.: I've already tried to play with the ruin a bit (only the frontside). Here are some screenshots.

It is a very good story My first question would have to be: Is this a BC mod project your working on or Silgrad Tower If its a BC project, I will help in any way I can, but this isn't the place for BC Mod stuff. If your proposing to use this in SIlgrad Tower then yes we can use the storyline but will have to change the names and places to fit. Second Question: Did you get this from an in game book or reference ? I will move this to submissions Thanks Enjoy Bob

Thanks!
To reply on your first question: It's a Silgrad Tower Project. The quest is part of an interior I'm working on in Reich Parkeep. And to your second question: No, it just came to my mind when I was thinking about a quest that could fit the interior. I'd already made the man a collector, but I didn't wanted to make a simple collecting quest like I did last time. So I came up with this Fourth Age idea. Also because it's a very Fantasy-like thing which I like very much. And it gave me a lot of free space to fill with Fantasy-like stuff. Bye, Sanpicture

Your welcome!
Just one question: Sandor said he'll look for a suitable location for the ruin in the Silgrad Tower land worldspace. But when should I begin building the ruin and The Fourth Age? In other words: when should I start realising the quest? I'm quite new to this whole WIP thing, you see. And I don't know if I should wait untill there's some discussion or that I can start right ahead. Bye, Sanpicture

I really can't answer that particular question (building the ruin) but as far as the idea for the quest, we do need to discuss it and make decisions on characters, places, structure of events, dialogue, things we need. etc. etc. We do that now as ideas and suggestions unfold Then we can put it all together in a usable format The WIP is new along with the other sections and I know it will take time to get used to, but it does give a bit more control on quest development. Thanks Much Enjoy Bob

Do you have a location for the ruin yet? And also, perhaps a little clarification on what this "Fourth Age" is?

I'm sorry for this late reply. But I totally forgot this threat.
The Fourth Age is supposed to be a worldspace (not as big as Tamriel , but a little bigger than an Oblivion worldspace). The Fourth Age is the home of the ancient people of Alcar. They are elves. The have a culture, but since this is a quest and not a BC mod, the player will not get to know very much about them. There are settlements in the Fourth Age. The player will be able to talk with the elves living in these settlements to learn a little more about their history, culture and about the Fourth Age itself. You should see the Fourth Age as a place where time goes nor forward nor backward. I think the flora and the sky will be a bit like Camoran's Paradise. The Fourth Age is dying, so there will be places where there's nothing but dead flora and memories of an age long gone. The player won't be able to acces the Fourth Age when the quest is completed. But when the quest is running he can stay in the Fourth Age as long as he likes. If you got any ideas please don't hesitate to comment. Bye, Sanpicture
