Oh yes, veeery nice! =)
Edit - This isn't very relevant as you're not using Speedtree but this guy looks like he offers some good tips and ideas: http://www.youtube.com/user/SpeedTreeMiddleware . I wonder if he'd be able to tell me how to get hold of some of these trees....probably for a large price though...

Do we have knees?
Yes - I know it's a daft question, put like that....

Yes, we have knees...but no feet... (there's a good riddle in there somewhere - QUESTION - "What has knees, arms and a body but no feet or head?" ANSWER - "A Cypress tree!")
Ahem, yes we do have knees and we can change their texture if we need them to fit with your own creation. Furthermore, should we need to create different knee models (like maybe clusters in large quantities) then I'm sure it's something that Koniption could handle in her sleep if needs be.

I'm pokin' around the big BM data archive looking for textures - there's a whole bunch of textures in Textures\trees under branches and leaves with no normal maps. Does that mean none of them are in use?

I have a few leaf textures myself. They may not be what you're looking for though. Koniption always tends to come up trumps when it comes to leaf textures....did you manage to find anything useful?

@ morcroft -
FYI, "still trees" need textures with normal maps, otherwise the tree will not fade when it gets foggy, but instead will be brightly colored as if it were a sunny day. They'd stand out like a sore thumb. For some reason, speedtrees don't need normal maps to achieve realistic visuals in foggy weather and such. As for my leaf textures - I find a free photo I can use where the profile of the leaf is good, but I usually have to carefully erase the background and do some other tweaks, to make my leaves look the way I want them. If you decide you want any help, in terms of getting a good leaf type you want, you can PM me the details and a sample photo of what you had in mind. Koniption
Yeah, don't let those little turds get you down. Dingleberries stick for a while, but eventually they fall off.

Ibsen's asked me to carry this over from NJRL0102 "Naga-Cradle Jungle: North-East" (Completed) where I was doing a bit of a Koniption
Quote:Originally posted by Ibsen's GhostIbsen, the main reason the billboard didn't work is that some bozo gave you the wrong file...! Not that it wasn't the file I intended to send - just I carefully recreated the problem a second time :bash: All I can say is, when you're working with the alpha channel, the whole point is you can't see what you're doing! Humour me and try it again with this copy. Once I'm sure I've got the process right, I'm happy to go through the rest of those trees and clean up the disappearing foliage and redo the billboards. I'm not planning to retex any foliage, though: I'll save that for my own creations. :]

Doh! Sorted! George of the Jungle is no more! Cheers morcroft! :goodjob:
Nuking those errors will do a lot of good to places like Darkmoor where that error is rife. Senten didn't know what caused it at the time he made those trees. Your speedtree expertise is showing already, it seems.

I'm still stuck with my still trees. I'm glad we got a speedtree user again, mostly. Oh, the possibilities....! Koniption
