I will, IS :check:
Just another quick question @ everyone - I seem to have to load up the meshes for a lot of the assets by dragging them into the CS every time I open the CS and that's why a lot of the stuff isn't available to me. Is this because of the current lack of a bsa file or can this be sorted by some other means? By the way, I am playing around with the cave interior of the city right now. At the moment, I have done a trial version featuring lots of Bravil architecture. It's looking quite nice (although the buildings themselves are a little too big for this cave)....I just wondered if anyone could recommend a set of BM architectural models that I can use. Bear in mind that I will need plenty of bridges, stairs and platforms....a bit like Bravil, really.

might seem a bit obvious, but once you have dragged the assets into CS have you tried saving as a new .esp? That should let you load the assets straight off...

Quote:Originally posted by llamaranger Not obvious to me, mate! I haven't a clue about the CS...doh! However, I have a problem with this. Saving it as an esp will mean that whenever I have to load these models up then I will need to load up that same esp plus whatever other esp I am working on...so unless I load up all of the models at the start of every new esp then I'm going to have to keep a 'load models' esp loaded as well. Work with sandor has revealed that having two BM esps in operation at any one time leads to contamination. For this reason, Moonmarch has had to be ditched because there were extensive contamination issues and I have smooth out the landscape for Blackwood AGAIN! because the first time I did it, I did so with the other esps loaded. Furthermore, I dislike having to load up and prep the assets prior to modding. This is why I posted up the 'bsa archive' thread on the core boards. At present, this is fairly complete (and a very large list, which I shall post up here once done) but I still have a problem with the old speedtrees such as the Baobab. Senten told me how to get the new speedtrees set up but the others seem to lack seeds and leaf textures. I will post up something on this elsewhere so I can get some help with it. Yay! to your triumphant return, btw. How was NYC?

easiest way would be to start yourself an esm. the esm is a base file on which all your plugins would depend, it could include the assets and the land for example. this way all your finished things are in one large playable file, and additions are done in esp files. which prevents contamination and allows more modders to work on the file at the same time, as esp cannot be modified by other esps effectively.
i would suggest downloading TESgecko and converting your main esp into an esm. the bsa really has nothing to do with anything, its just an archive full of stuff. it wont help you in terms of actual CS modding at all. Mongati HoonDing tiavo; li-mansao einei diang. Cassandra for the memospore era |

Aha, thank you!!!
Well, that was easy. I just downloaded Tes4Gecko and within three minutes I had a new esm with all six of the settlement esps in my possession fully merged!

In which case, can someone send me the old esm? It seems to have automatically written over my old esm...is there a way to 'clean' the file that I'm not aware of, btw?

TESgecko also does cleaning, as does the tes4 plugin utility (but ive never tried it). you can also clean out individual entries by marking them ignored in the Details window of the CS (when loading a plugin) but this doesnt always work.
if everything works fine its probably OK. its just smart to keep backups since you really dont know when something will happen (corruption, a little too thorough cleaning, fucked up form IDs, hard drive crashes, etc.) Mongati HoonDing tiavo; li-mansao einei diang. Cassandra for the memospore era |

Does it do the cleaning automatically when you merge the file? I see that there is also a 'clean plugin' button. Is it advisable to use that before merging?
