Even the shrinking the parts and adding tattoos would probably make a teen sload, So if we were going to make Sload Younglings then the model would have to be reduced dramatically because of most importantly the FPS would blow up without the reduction :lmao: And yes I have done some homework for modelling here).

Also one last thing will the sload be playable? I know most people will say "Hell No!"
but I do think it would be nice to future make this because that "Thras" project always dreamed of a playable sload and well we have a chance to keep that dream come alive? .

Well, I talked to Koniption about this, because I wasnt sure what we were going to do with a Sload once we had one. I wasnt sure if it was possible, or at all logical to have a playable Sload (Mostly because Sload dont have the power to use weapons on account of their lack of thumbs). But it also wouldnt make sense to have a Sload as an animal or an enemy, because the Sload are smart and dont generally attack without reason. The best thing a sload could be is an NPC.

Also, do you mean that you want me to slim the Sload down? I suppose I could, but then he would be a more adolescent sload then an adult sload. Ah ha! I could make many different sload from baby slug sload to elder mountain sload! It would take a long time, but that would be a hilarious Mod!

PS koniption: I am ecstatic about modeling! I am already having a blast, and the Sload hasnt even been finished yet.

Ibsen will be around shortly too blast all unimportant posts to pieces (Did i just refer Ibsen to being the terminator of black marsh? i think ive had one too many drinks tonight).

Well i know elsweyr need a talking sload (So the whole face conversion blah blah blah things will have to animate from what i hear on some websites, And some of my old mates that like modding tell me facegen does that sort of thing....)
And yeah a hilarious mod it would be!
And it would definetly smack WAC's sload model in the face (I hear hes making one but he will never release it as modders resource because thats the ayleid ghost for you).

Ummm Sload and fighting well i dont know if you know much about there fighting techniques but i do know that they like using teleporting spells (It has a special word i know! i know!) and they love necromancey, They seem to be a more "I dont want to hurt my nice flubbery body type race" Yet a group of peoples within blackmarsh that are beastmen from all over and like to fight and train
(Maybe a chance for a new sport here? Wrestling + Sumo? is there a sport that has wrestling + sumo) And have a few big fat middle-aged sloads would be good for this.

hey, it looks damn sweet, but make sure you can export it to an existing skeleton. there are a couple that could work with some clever weight painting. making a whole new skeleton and 50 animations will be a major pain in the behind.

if anything, i'd give it more blubbery detail. like celulite and more micro fat folds. zbrush is wonderfull for stuff like that, and it would translate well to a really nice normal map.

Yeah, that was the plan. I added some fat sacks that are now dangling off his thighs and some extremely saggy boobehs. Now I will probably go into the face, add some saggy eye-lids, work on the mouth, and other things.

Edit: Well, I think I have fixed all that I thought needs fixing. Then again, they say that if you look at something long enough, you tend to fail to see the imperfections in the piece, so constructive criticism is always welcome. Just remember that I am trying to keep it partially low poly, which for some reason is really hard for me.



The weirdest thing on him is the fingers. But just so you know, the Sload dont really have hands. They have shape conforming appendages that resemble fingers so they can grasp onto cliffs. But their tool use, with the lack of thumbs, is limited. Also, you may also see that the head, the fingers, the feet, all seem to be seperate. Well, thats because they are. I think KP said that she could somehow get rid of those silly creases that are pretty obvious.

If everything is good on my side, then I will decimate it to death and then ship it over to my good friend Koniption and then she can have her way with it.

I think the only thing left for you to do is to open the mouth some more so I can select vertices more easily. I'm gonna try to do some head morphs. After you do that, you can send him over to me after you decimate him.

Also, if the sload is a creature, it can be made to not attack anyone unless it it attacked first.

I have the flu right now, and am still doing some testing of my current models before I send them to Ibsen. Also I'm gonna take a little break after modeling for a month and a half pretty heavily. After that, I'll work on the sload.

@ Lady Nerevar: yeah, I'll take your advice and try to rig him to an existing skeleton. But I might change some animations for that skeleton a little, so they are slower, and maybe more waddle-like.

@ Lore_Naga: I didn't know Elswyr needed a talking sload. But I can't really accomplish that on my end. The best I can do with it is a creature right now, unless some really big *eureka* moment occurs to me. If you want to try to rig the model to a playable race skeleton yourself, and somehow get the face to work with talking, that's fine by me.

Im a little muddled on how to go about making sload a playable race?
I mean i would need some kind of awesome script to work the aspect of the sload and by all means they will only wear pants and bracers,
If i do get to do that and has anyone heard from ibsen?

:Edit: Can i make a playable skeleton in this game? I could do in WoW but aspects of oblivion make it seem impossible.

And zaneeba keep all the models you make please =) Incase we need variations?

I remembered that Saiden helped Seniosh make a lich an NPC for the ST glassmine quest, so I did a search using the method described here. This brief thread looked informative, but there were several other results retrieved with the terms lich saiden.

I've never used Facegen, so I don't know what all is involved.

im 98% sure that the sload cant be a playable race... in the standard method of doing it anyways. all playable races share the human body, so the sload body would have to be equipped as clothing (which is awkward). having them wear clothes would be nearly impossible, or at the very least require tons and tons of scripting and modeling (each wearable model would need to be converted into a sload variant and toggled via script. any mod clothing would automatically make the sload a skinny human). the sload would also need to be rigged to use the human skeleton, which is simply impossible (or very, very difficult) due to its girth. the best method would be a transform to creature spell.

imo, sload should not be playable. their physique, culture, and way of thinking are completely different from normal humans. they are fat, amoral, necromancers who do not use weapons and can barely move on land - such a thing would be impossible to play well within the bounds of the game. not to mention the engine limitations outlined above. Sload are also nearly extinct, viewed as evil by everyone, and very rare in tamriel. i would reserve them for one or two special characters so that you can focus on making them really sload like and at the same time keep them cool.

lipsynch is can be generated by the CS 1.0 when you add dialog. no facegen required.
