Thanks for the link and infor on the animation. No I haven't tested it yet. I would assume I could copy the script from the "crystal ball" and attach it to a tatami mat or pillow. Do you know if the animation can be given to a NPC and have them "sit"?

I worked on the huts some last night. I just need to add collision and they will be done soon.

Yes, the directors touch spell it adds to your Spell list can be used on NPC's, but it will look odd, unless they are standing still.
Use it on guards or somthieng like that.
If you use Toaster says share mod, you can get any NPC with disposition above 70-80 tehy'll follow you.
It gives you spells, to tell tehm to do things, and you can make them stand still. And cast the spell on them.

Cool, I know BM could use those.

Yes, yes, yes! I like them! :yes: I haven't learned how to script yet -- still trying to get the buildings and interiors on the map first. But this looks very nice, don't you think? I will have to go back and make replacements in other places.

I had a couple more ideas for you, if you want to try them. I don't know if any bamboo garden fences and partitions have been found or made yet, but I'm having a hard time making a chunky wooden game fence look like thin, roped or woven bamboo fence. Another garden item that is EVERYWHERE here ... chimes. I can think of three most popular kinds -- one is a small glass sphere or temple-shape ornament with long string and paper wish (tinkling sound for summer), one is bamboo sort of like the ones at the Ashland tents in Morrowind (hollow wooden tones), and third is rain chain. Rain chains are not fuurin like the other two, meant for wind. Rain chains act as rain spouts. Each "chain" is a metal shaped cup (like a flower). It makes a pretty sound when rain flows through it. I was thinking of trying to find a sound file to fit them and make them activators or something, but so far I haven't found anything in the game that I can retexture to look like these things.

Just throwing out more ideas for atmosphere. ^_^

(By the way, there is a joke in this picture ... I was in a strange mood while I was putting weapons and armor in the shop. Can you spot my joke? There is another on the island similar but more obvious. I think I will leave them in just for laughs and see how many people recognize it.) :lmao:

I know of all three chimes you're talking about. I've modeled the sphere shaped one and the pagoda shaped one. The third one will be easy. It will probably be a little while before I actually wrap these up as a nif though, because I want to animate them so they move slightly in the wind.

I have several sets of rain chains in my yard. I'll try to make some this weekend.

The first one is difficult for me to reproduce with game materials. I have made something similar to the second. But it's that thin, lattice yellow, tied look that is difficult.

One idea I had was to texture a wooden post like bamboo, and then hang Bravil ropes between posts to resemble a common look around here, but that is going to be tedius, building it piece by piece. One mesh with transperancy to duplicate a "wall" at a time would be better.

And you know of rain chains? ^_^ Do you have a Japanese garden? Animations would be great! I love chimes. I have them all over the yard and house because I collect them. That will be exciting to have them in the game too. :yes:

Yeah I like rain chains too. They are very expensive here though. Like $300 for one! I'd like to make some for the game- hopefully I can make a decent collision so they sway when you bumb into them.
