Hi shreddz!

Thanks for coming. Both of those areas are in their very early stages. Regarding the voice acting, we have recently recruited Eshenaleros who will also be helping out but, as I told him, until the quests are finalised, the dialogue is sorted and we're underway then there's not going to be much for a good while. However, yourself and Esh are down on my list now. =)

As for Quests, you may have already noticed the Quest forums: http://www.silgrad.com/wbb2/board.php?boardid=154 . These are to develop your ideas online whilst members of the team discuss your ideas, check them for fitting into the lore and offer general guidance and assistance. At the moment, we have Deeza working on ideas for the Fighter's Guild quests and InsanitySorrow working on the Shadowscales. What we lack at the moment, however, are a few small quests to get us going and start building a more rounded idea of the Black Marshes dungeon locations so it would be great if we can work with you to do that. Taking a look at the settlements we have created may inspire a few city/settlement quests.

The grander ideas will sprout from the 'lore' section here: http://www.silgrad.com/wbb2/board.php?boardid=155 . The rootworm and Sarpa lore will probably be claimed by myself, ThePriest909 and Deeza eventually though, once the ideas are more fully developed. In the meantime, check out the 'List of Factions' as this should give you an idea of the sort of questlines we're looking to develop. Discount the 'Blackwood Company' and 'Imperial Navy' though.

You will also notice that this thread is quite lively at the moment: Dungeon Design Strategy . This concerns some of the dungeon tilesets that we currently have available and others that we are considering developing.

If you need any more help and guidance, be sure to let us know how you'd like to be contacted by I'm through this thread: Using Skype . I can then take you through any difficulties you may experience in getting started.

Finally, be sure to read the first post of this thread and choose a modding ID. Mine is IG for Ibsen's Ghost. How's SH for you?

hello again and thanks for the help and my for modding ID SH will be really good
Hello everyone.

I was refered here by Ibsen's Ghost from the Bethsoft Forums.

My PM was:
Quote:...My main strength is probably scripting. Tell me what needs to be done and I will tell you if and how it will be scripted.

I am also very good at interiors, quest implementation and I can use every feature of the Construction set quite well (except landscape [bad at it] and heightmap [useless at it] editing). I also know a number of ways of keeping a plugin as conflict-free as possible (almost an obsession).

Third on my list is that I can do dungeons and NPCs if I have to.

My weaknesses would be worldspace and exterior editing (mainly due to landscape and heightmap editing skills).
I can't create meshes (I have had Blender for about a year and I still don't know how to use it) and textures baffle me. I could probably design an inventory or menu icon (I have GIMP) if I have to but I have no idea how the DDS files used for meshes work (why is the picture constructed the way it is? How does this supposedly messed up picture become a texture which wraps onto the mesh perfectly?).
Third, I'm not very creative. If you need a quest written or a space designed, you will have to tell me what the plot/ theme/ use is before I can start work.
Lastly, I have a job and studies so I can't devote as much time as other people to the project...

Ibsen's reply:
Quote:...So, to sum up, interiors, dungeons and AIs (in that order) are the most instantly useful things you could bring. Scripting, whilst still very much needed, tends to get done piecemeal although with your work and study commitments, this might well suit you...
.
Hi XJDHDR,

Please browse through the first post in this thread here: New Modders Start Here . That should tell you everything you need to know to get started. Or just PM me and I'll offer whatever assistance I can. Alternatively, contact me via Skype: Using Skype .

Hi I currently am working over at the Elsweyr Confederacy, and I started thinking that I wanted to help over here too. I am a fairly good modder, and my strengths are interiors, I could do some exteriors, but Im not very good at scripting or dialogue. So could you use someone like me to help do some interiors?
You betcha! Interiors are exactly what we need at this stage.... =) We've done a lot with the exterior world but interiors are now the main focus. Plus we now have loads more interior furnishings to make use of.

There are open claims for Pholmolo, Stormhold, Rockguard and the Stonewastes here: http://www.silgrad.com/wbb2/board.php?boardid=411 . Stormhold is our complex jungle city with a Barsaebic ruin underground. Pholmolo is the small tribal home of some very tough, hard-bitten Argonians. Rockguard is a farming community and one of the few Imperial bastions remaining. And Stonewastes is a mostly typical Argonian fishing town with a small Imperial presence.

There are others but they're not posted up as claims yet. There's three houses at Tenmar Wall to finish off, some beach homes at Soulrest (including a ship interior), new small hut interiors at Hixinoag and most of Gideon still to plan. And if you stick around then we can begin working on our player homes.

There's also landscapes to do here: http://www.silgrad.com/wbb2/board.php?boardid=408 . The jungle is quite a task and there are lots of trees to add for Blackwood but I did a little of the Everglades work recently and it was dead easy. It would be a great place for a landscaper to start.

I'll be uploading new files soon. The esm is already here: Latest esm and esp updates and the new archive is here: Black Marsh Resources: Latest bsa . The latest one is v2.15. Bear in mind that I'm still trying to get the archive into bsa format which will save people from downloading 300-400mb each time we have an update so you may wish to hang on for a bit longer.

And finally, of course, a big welcome to the Black Marshes! :goodjob:
Alright thanks! Big Grin

And is there a fairly simple interior I can do just to get started?
