alright i've been looking through the massive quantities of stuff here and i'm a little confused.

I figured i'd start small so that I can get a feel for the resources, but i'm unsure how to make a claim. I'm interested in doin "Hixinoag: Green Star Staffs Interior", so do I just make a post in that thread saying I want to do it?

Yep, that's the way it's done. You post under that claim's thread saying you want to do it, then you wait for Ibsen's reply giving the go-ahead, before you start working on it. I looked at that claim and saw that no one claimed it, so it looks like fair game.

We are dependant on Shivering Isles, btw, so be sure to save your esp accordingly.

Koniption
which is just loading the DLCShivering.esp as well right?
Yes. Glad to have you on board.
Thanks, Deeza. Yes, make sure you have the esm and archive files but you don't need to activate the SI esp. In fact, if you activate any other esps then I thought it screwed things up a bit. I don't think this is something we should be worrying about in the long-term as sandor notes such errors when he merges things.

Anyway, you can still access the SI items just by loading up the BM esm. The Oblivion esm is automatically activated anyway. Then it's just a case of saving your work with an esp name of your choice.
gotcha :goodjob:
whats the best free 3d modeling program
I think it's blender that's most commonly used for OB but 3ds Max always appears popular. I'm not a modeller though so I wouldn't know. Btw, this question is best asked over at the models and textures section. Just keep an eye out for the best place to choose. It makes things easier to manage. Cheers.
Blender is the best free 3D Modelling program, it's actually pretty good. Though it can be tricky to get used to it's layout ect.
thnxs but now how do i get to post pictures
I don't know what others use but for the CS I use fraps. Try going to http://www.fraps.com if you're not already familiar with this site (and maybe it hasn't worked with Blender...?).
